Mole_Toonfan
Most football fans are incredibly knee jerkey, when he scores a couple next week they'll be saying how amazing he is.

madras
Oh aye and a special mention for the Man Utd fans.....all they wanted to do was wind up the oppositions fans. It's as if they have given up on their team and thats all they have left. Man Utd ? League of Accents more like!
Figures 1-0 Football
Poor Valencia being tricked by the ball - he was so unlucky that he kicked Atsu in the face.
Guest chopey
Poor Valencia being tricked by the ball - he was so unlucky that he kicked Atsu in the face. It was the bounce man, not his fault
Stifler
Doesn’t matter if there is a bounce or not, that foot is extremely high and dangerous. At the time of it happening it looked like he made no attempt to get the ball. It was more of an assault than a poor challenge. If he wasn’t playing Man Utd then he’d be sitting out for the next 3 games. How retrospective can’t be taken because of that.
RodneyCisse
Some of that bbc commentary was abysmal.
LoveItIfWeBeatU
If it had been a NUFC player raising his foot that high into a Man U player's face the commentator would have been calling for a red card. Biased media scum.

madras
Some of that bbc commentary was abysmal. Don't care. Todays ref was good (even given we should have had a penalty). Lots of Diame's legitimate challenges would have been free kicks with other refs.

Aye - superb refereeing for allowing a few legitimate tackles to not be fouls, but missing an obvious penalty and red card which would have benefited us even further. I wish all referees were this good.
Odear
If Shelvey could play like that for the remainder of the season he’d have a chance for the England squad. Easily his best game for us. Where did that even come from? Knows he has to pick his tackles now as he’ll always be liable to get booked for any 50/50 situation he goes into. Madness that it’s taken him this long to figure that out.
Andy84
well done lads. Must admit I had little faith today, great performance and an absolutely massive 3 points
Guest firetotheworks
As good as he was on the ball, it's the way that he was aggressive enough without it being over the top that impressed me. For a player like him, especially with the reputation he has, the fineline between not enough and red card is tiny. He got it absolutely spot on. Odear
Well he has Diame now impersonating William Carvalho so that will give him the freedom to get on the ball a bit more. I’d still love to see Merino in the team but at who’s expense?

madras
Have a look at this place when we scored. I actually urge you to look back through this thread to when we scored. I love Neesy.
Figures 1-0 Football
Didn’t realise at first that when Lejeune blocked from Sanchez (where he had an open goal), Yedlin actually tackled Sanchez which is what caused him to go so wide - a really brilliant tackle. Guest firetotheworks
Still can't work out why Sanchez stuttered and didn't hit it on the first attempt. Just happy that he did.
Gallowgate Toon
Still can't work out why Sanchez stuttered and didn't hit it on the first attempt. Just happy that he did. I think he thought he was off balance, checked back and saw the 'keeper was down and probably presumed it was a sure thing even if he took a step to compose himself. Skeletor
Still can't work out why Sanchez stuttered and didn't hit it on the first attempt. Just happy that he did. There's a certain camera angle which shows his leg would have to swing at an angle which would likely have led to a mis-kick. He takes the extra touch to adjust but it's too late. I think his standing foot was in the wrong position and he'd essentially have kicked it into himself.
M4
Was thinking the same. There's a replay where you see him look up just before the extra touch. At that point he would have seen a completely empty goal and surrounding area. Can only imagine he didn't feel confident enough in his body shape and in that split second decided he had time to be extra sure of his finish. Surprising because he's normally a very nimble finisher. Thank fuck, though.
M4
Hopefully that's a good enough explanation for that guy's four year old.
