Their meltdown is getting better and better - still banging on about being "classier fans"

The article was penned by a "MLF" according to page five of the thread too

Newcastle fan posted that pic of them celebrating our relegation, kind of destroys their argument really.

Argueing that they celebrated because it confirmed their safety. Yet that celebration was 5 minutes after they got a result which confirmed safety.

Considering yourself as " classier " is a subjective argument but they must live in a bubble to believe they can project themselves as "classy" . Fans who defecate on their stadium seats ,  revere criminals who have " worn the shirt " , and have to be persuaded to turn up on match days in anything like decent numbers by the lure of free tickets ? And believe me , the general standard of home support at the Stadium if Light does not project a " classy " image .

Just need to let them live in their own bubble really. They honestly believe their own lies. Newcastle is a trampoline city that is full of thick Geordies who wear nothing but NUFC shorts with gravy all the way down it. Sunderland is better, even Gateshead (not really Newcastle in their eyes) is better and people prefer to do their shopping instead.

Sunderland fans are more loyal, they are classier etc.

Yet the truth is Newcastle is regarded as one of England’s hidden treasures. There are more skilled jobs in the area by a larger variety of private sector companies (though it lacks them in terms compared to the rest of the U.K.). It has 2 universities, both places up higher on every league table than Sunderland’s.

It is far more multicultural than Sunderland or the surrounding areas. Yes you may get one bloke with gravy stains down his top which may or may not be an NUFC, but in my experience it’s usually an old guy who’s trying to cling onto as much independence as he can for as long as he can, which means he is unfortunately a messy eater.

Meanwhile the stats say that more people are shopping in Newcastle than Gateshead, with demand for locations in Eldon Square and elsewhere in the city centre higher than the Metrocentre (until recently Northumberland street had the highest rents outside of London).

Oh and the Newcastle fans stay behind their team, even when they are in an expected relegation battle, or even in the Championship, and our fans arn’t defending a convicted peadophile and our club isn’t knowingly playing one.

Let them have their lies, let them have their 6 in a row. NUFC is and always has been more than just Sunderland’s rival. And if we were to never play again it won’t define us. With Rafa we have something to look forward too.

Can understand them celebrating. We would in the same boat.

But some of them (like the two blokes at the front), it's as though he's seen his long lost brother for the first time in 40 years.

In typical mackem style I see that a lot of them have now decided that the Premier League is not that good and being a lower league club is the new cool thing.

However when Newcastle were relegated from the PL they somehow managed to squeeze the word "premier" into virtually every piece of marketing they did, probably stopping just short of changing their name to Sunderland Premier FC.

Then of course they later decided that the league immediately below the PL was nothing more than a pub league!

They really are a strange bunch.

They were singing 'six in row, six in a row, now the smb are two leagues below' at Leicester. Maybe they are over it.

Cringy af that pic. I'm not local, but Sunderland fans do seems really weird. Wonder how many of those in the picture attend their games nowadays

Many of them looks like they are the happiest they have been in years, and they probably are. Sad bastards

Shoudn’t really, but that really tickled me for some reason.

It appears that the new position to take on RTG is to fake detachment. Seems strange to go onto your clubs forum to state you aren't bothered about relegation. Their other position is to state that because neither team has won anything for ages then we are basically in the same position.

 It's been one of their things for a while as well, when they think they've got the upper hand it's all about Sunderland but when things go plop for them it's about the state of north east football
