Are they that desperate that they splashed that much on a player who will be near useless next season?

He’s like the Dwight Gayle of league one. More than good enough for that league, but too shit for the one above.

Didn’t we pretty much do that with Hanley, Hayden and co....number one priority is to get out of the 3rd division, Grigg will guarantee this surely or they are fucked

The real culprits in this are Hall and Sepherd and they have got away scot free. They built the club on sand with bank loans and inflated the jordi ego so they have their delusions of grandier way higher than what it should be. If Ashley had done his homework he wouldnt have touched them with a barge pole and they would have been in administration. They have a lot to thank him for but they are stupid.

You've gotta love a made up mackem myth.

mackem on Almiron...

By the sounds of it, all of Europes top clubs need to sack their scouting teams by missing him.

So the Don’s latest idea is to use the stadium as collateral for funding to buy four hotels in order to generate some income to compete in the Championship.

Or something like that.

My vote would be to put the hotels on Park Lane and Mayfair.  The rent is substantially better than what is would be on lesser squares such as Whitehall or Old Kent Road.....

he is talking about Monopoly isn't he?

Why would anyone value that stadium at £80m? Why would anyone take on the risk of a stadium which generates basic amounts of money twice a month? Who else is going to use it if the club defaults?

Bizarre. The stadium is only worth something to a football club or sporting club, it’s not like they can move it 100 miles somewhere else or have a host of new tenants ready to move in.

Also... isn't the stadium build on some old brown field site that is full of buried industrial waste so even the land is worthless to build on should someone decide to flatten that stadium and build a Sports Direct store or similar on the space vacated?
