Guest Howaythetoon Posted April 30, 2019 Share Posted April 30, 2019 Ross was totally the wrong appointment for them, he’s someone they should have went for instead of Grayson, someone you bring in to start from scratch with the emphasis on developing a new team with a long-term plan based on rebuilding, instilling a playing style and taking gradual steps forward. Which he’s actually done or trying to do, but in an environment where all of that can wait, going back up by hook or crook the priority. Someone more experienced, singled minded and with a tougher no nonsense personality was required where style of play, development, long-term plans and anything else weren’t important. He’s actually done a decent job if you forget for a moment their budget, size, goal of promotion. But they are too soft, naive, lightweight and can’t kill a game off. If they don’t go up, I think if they keep him, maybe they can go one step further next season. They’d be mad to get rid now, unless someone like Warnock becomes available. They’d be more fucked if they do go up anyway because the two crooks in charge would have even more ‘means’ of skimming cash from the coffers and more marachute money to find ways of making disappear from club coffers. They don’t have the money, credit line or stomach for the long haul. They’ll ‘sell up’ before May 2020 if they don’t go up and that could be the best thing for the mackems. After the last minute winner the majority of their players just walked away, some even walked towards the tunnel. There was no heads in hands, no kicking the goal post, no shouting, not even any eye contact with each other. It’s going to take a lot of them to be mentally up for the play offs now. I think some of the bigger names in the squad have the quality to get out of that division, but the majority of their team mates around them just let them down. I think that’s why they have drawn so many games, quality in some bits (in comparison to the league), however everyone else just doesn’t have it in them and let’s them down.
