So the Don pays £37m (mostly on tick from Short), uses money from the parachute payments to pay most of that back, fails to get promoted and sells his stake for more than he paid for it? Bloke's a genius.

You forgot to add he's being applauded for doing it by the fans too. It's mental.

He's played them like a fiddle from day one and how on earth they were gullible enough to take Methven at face value simply beggars belief.

I guess it's just their desperation to be wanted and loved by someone, anyone.....  :)

Their gate receipts for the entire season totalled £6.6m. Their average crowd was 27,700 meaning that, on average the fans pay a tenner a head to get in!

Fair play to them, I guess.

Not really like because when the marrachute payments run out their main income stream will be though the gate. Their 25k average wont give them much financial advantage over teams averaging half of that at those prices. Once again they'll be relying on someone to bankroll them like Short did.

Big Don really bought these fuckers with their own money then sold them a year later for major profit. What a lad.

I received a ban from RTG for suggesting The Don was a two bob chancer with a penchant for chicks with dicks.......think I'll go and demand an apology.

Not clicking that mail link but is Donald really gonna make a killing on the sale? How much could they possibly sell for in their current predicament?

Think he was sure they would go up and make a killing by selling up. They haven't and with the money he owes the club for using the paracute payment to buy the club, honestly think he has sold up sharpish with a profit but it won't be a big one. If these don't go up next year they are financially fucked and even if they do they will be fighting relegation and will start making their weekly losses again. The bloke was always a chancer and his gamble didn't pay off but he will still make a bit of a profit. The gamble of possibly making a heavy loss in the future has forced his hand.

He stands to make £13m. He only put in £5m of his own money.

If these don't go up next year they are financially f***ed and even if they do they will be fighting relegation and will start making their weekly losses again. Again not clicking the link to read the mail article but how much is this league one club supposedly being sold for that could reward him a £13m profit?

It really depends on how much he repays to the club, for using the clubs Marrachute payments to pay off the remaining SBC debt (But...  bbbut, they told us we were Debt-Free  :'(  )

If they really did pay Short 37M for the club, with two more planned payments to Short for 25M and 9M from the remaining Marrachute payments..... then just how much was the cub actually worth.  Less than 5M  ;D

Now, Stewie Don says he (and the other investors) will repay these payments back into the club over time, because the club didn't buy itself from Short.    But if he is bailing now, and taking his 20-30M with him ....  who is going to pay back the missing Marrachute money.

Remember he borrowed the parachute money though to finance the deal - does he pay this back as he said?. In football club terms not a lot of money, honestly thinking he was banking on going up and getting 50 million plus in profit. He's s*** himself as he knows don't get out now and make a big loss, as he hasn't got the money to take the club forward and never has.

A couple of million profit is a decent return for essentially failing. Think the don knew exactly what he was doing all along in that he couldn't lose and was always walking away with a couple of million. Smart move to buy them.
