Honestly didn't think you could get a Poundland Chubby Brown, like.

FTM? This is from a bloke who hates Newcastle so much he was spending his weekends in Cosy Joes as resident DJ quite recently. Not sure how recently cos I've never been back since they threw me out for abusing him when I was full o drink. Last autumn maybe? One bar I won't rush back to post lockdown, ever in fact.

Congratulations to Coventry for getting promoted to the Championship just in time for them to have their year as the European City of Culture.

Fuck off is Coventry going to be the city of culture

Why so shocked?

Oh, right, this :

The city polled 85,097 Leave votes and 67,967 for Remain in a turnout of 69 per cent at yesterday’s historic referendum.

All of Coventry and Warwickshire voted for Brexit - with the exception of Warwick.

Just looked at the last page of that thread about us and they’re STILL talking about Rafa

What I’d give for him to return and win us a trophy!

Rinse and repeat!

And again! Absolutely baffling their obsession with him!

Can you imagine what they would be like if the situations were reversed?

That doesn't really concern me. North East football is tragic, and has been for a while. Hope Sunderland can sort themselves out. Whatever we think of them they shouldn't be toiling in Division 3.  The mismanagement there has been a disgrace really.

Agreed. Did say, right at the start when they went down to L1, that I felt sorry for them. It's not their fault that it's their lot in life to be born in Sunderland, to grow up in that mag-hating culture.

I don't get the 'what it would be like if situations were reversed' posts, like that justifies kicking them while they're fighting for their existence. It's very small-minded imho /tinhat. Be the bigger person here.

Sunderland, trying to compete in the highest leagues, with us, is the most satisfying time to be a Newcastle fan.

Even if they get their shit together and grow within their means they’ll not see the prem again. They averaged £11 a ticket in the top league due to all their concessions and free tickets means their attendance is false. It looks good on paper and why they’ll have had a few sniffing round, but when you see the level of income from ticket sales you’ll soon realise the club cannot sustain the demands of the fans as they simply don’t put the money in to self support in the top league. Even on their Boxing Day record the club were so desperate they were back at giving away tickets just to get bums on seats. It’s the only way they get high attendances.

Mid table championship is their natural level which I’m sure they sell their mothers for right now, but it wasn’t to long ago that they wanted promotion straight out of that ‘pub league’ so I’m sure their delusions of grandeur would only be a moment away on return and demanding higher within a season, but without significant investment (Or some luck in terms of a few Pickford or Henderson’s coming through) it isn’t happening.

But all that is some time away. They are closer to the 4th division and playing under Donald who for Newcastle fans has been one of the greatest people associated with the club in a long line. Long live the don.

Watching the first few episodes of STID, Maja is such an awful liar, even for a footballer

Thought he was trying to avoid lying tbh, he always had a sheepish grin on his face whenever asked about his future, would have been much worse if he'd just lied straight up and said he wanted to stay.

Kyle Lafferty of Welcome to Sectarian Sunderland fame leaves the club.

Will these have a team next season ?

serious question , aren’t they all out of contract , or most of the.

All but 9 according to Transfermarkt of those listed. Got another couple of years of the £4m man though thanks to The Don’s prudent negotiation skills.

They are paying cats till 2023

Guest Butcher

They’re so desperate for a new owner it’s unreal.

So many of their academy prospects are leaving/ have left. They’ve nowt going for them atm, and I think they’ll struggle for years and years to come.

They'll probably have new owners before us at this rate.

Can’t be that far off having the option to do a type of fans trust type of takeover like Pompey did.

Give it’d require putting their hands in their pockets it won’t happen though as a healthy portion of their support are ‘parasites’ in the words of their former director and more interested in ‘actually damaging the progress of the club’ to quote their former chairman.
