Guest covmag
Are they that desperate that they splashed that much on a player who will be near useless next season? He’s like the Dwight Gayle of league one. More than good enough for that league, but too shit for the one above. Didn’t we pretty much do that with Hanley, Hayden and co....number one priority is to get out of the 3rd division, Grigg will guarantee this surely or they are fucked

Scoot
https://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/newcastle-fc.1460430/page-24 The real culprits in this are Hall and Sepherd and they have got away scot free. They built the club on sand with bank loans and inflated the jordi ego so they have their delusions of grandier way higher than what it should be. If Ashley had done his homework he wouldnt have touched them with a barge pole and they would have been in administration. They have a lot to thank him for but they are stupid. You've gotta love a made up mackem myth. mackem on Almiron... By the sounds of it, all of Europes top clubs need to sack their scouting teams by missing him. 1964
See Nissan have decided not to make the new x trail in Sunderland as planned due to brexit fears. Wonder how they feel about it all now?

TBG
Four hotels Do they not realise that away supporters visiting Sunderland, stop in Newcastle before and after the match.
Sima
They were suggesting better sites to have the hotels in, such as London, Leeds, York and Manchester. I wonder how far £40m would go on four hotels in those areas.
Disco
What is it with these lads and kids? he said on the pod there were dms sent to him on twiiter threatening to do stuff to his kids if we didnt sign a striker..
Guest
So the Don’s latest idea is to use the stadium as collateral for funding to buy four hotels in order to generate some income to compete in the Championship. Or something like that. https://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/stadium-refinancing-idea.1460891/ Is this his Mike Ashley style heel turn? Butter-up the natives early on but then the bombshell... Or something like that. https://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/stadium-refinancing-idea.1460891/ My vote would be to put the hotels on Park Lane and Mayfair. The rent is substantially better than what is would be on lesser squares such as Whitehall or Old Kent Road..... he is talking about Monopoly isn't he? Disco
TBF to The Don he could probably buy Sunderland train station for less than £200. Could use the spare change to install a toilet.

Dokko
Why would anyone value that stadium at £80m? Why would anyone take on the risk of a stadium which generates basic amounts of money twice a month? Who else is going to use it if the club defaults? Bizarre. The stadium is only worth something to a football club or sporting club, it’s not like they can move it 100 miles somewhere else or have a host of new tenants ready to move in. pinkeye
Also... isn't the stadium build on some old brown field site that is full of buried industrial waste so even the land is worthless to build on should someone decide to flatten that stadium and build a Sports Direct store or similar on the space vacated? BlueStar
- Put stadium down for collateral to build hotels - Nobody wants to use the hotels any more because of Sunderland-backed Brexit - Lose stadium, play home games at Hillheads.
xLiaaamx
The more I think about it, the more I'm baffled by the fact he thinks 4 hotels will completely bankroll a football club ?

Dokko
I’m guessing none of the hotels will reside in suenderland. Not even he’s that stupid. Also returning £2.5m on a £10m hotel every year seems wildly optimistic.
