Newcastle United 0-1 West Bromwich Albion - 28/04/18 - post match from page 9

Recommended Posts

My nephew was there and said it was an awful game matched by an equally awful atmopshere and that there was audible boos at the end. We should be beating WBA at home like regardless.

Especially with our "world class" manager.

You've got issues.

If having 'issues' is telling it as it is then yes, I have issues. Sorry, the Rafa appointment hasn't excited me much  but the football in the main has been pretty bland, dull and in the main utterly shit to watch. There's some think it a mortal sin to even contemplate that Rafa could be criticised.

Your issues are more to do with getting off on being an internet WUM. Not exactly the most grown up thing to do is it ?

I assume you teach lessons in a Noddy car.

Calling yesterdays performance 'fucking garbage' is WUM? Is it really? Seems the few I've read on the thread after my post who suggest they actually attended agree with my sentiments entirely.

And I'm puzzled as to what my chosen profession has to with anything?

Haven't seen you around these parts for a while, been on holiday or something?

I've been here - watching - waiting....

At least you admit you only dare post when we lose because you've absolutely nothing productive to contribute.

Christ, I think it’s time to move on from keegan.

Every HTT post ends up being about KK  If we played swashbuckling KK football with our team we'd be at the bottom of the league

Honestly, I could not give a flying fuck if we are not playing attacking football, as long as we are going for the win, and there is a game plan for the way we play.

Obviously its a preference, but I don't really care.

At the moment, there are more teams that are better than us than worse. Our priority has been to stop the other team from being as good as they can, and we've done a remarkable job of it.

The more quality we can add to that philosophy the better.

Guest NobbyOhNobby

We've done amazingly this season - far exceeded expectations, all hail Rafa - but we were rubbish yesterday and the players lacked the intensity shown when we'd won four of the last five. People who booed should be banned from the stadium for life.

I don't think there's much more to say

I didn't notice any booing but there were audible groans as pass after pass was misplaced in the second half. It started to make the players look edgy in possession.

Always said that if just a couple of hundred people out of 52,000 boo, it gets noticed and unfortunately becomes a story.

It’s about philosophy, training, coaching etc. Someone like KK and I hate to mention him would have a pub team playing better or more aesthetic football than we do, just down to how he wants a team to play. On the other hand someone like Rafa would have a pub team wininning more matches so it’s horses for courses. I’m not complaining as such, but I can see where criticism comes from and why people complain. I wouldn’t like to pay to watch that week in week out fuck that.

Jesus FUCKING christ.

in the gallowgate plenty boos ringing out at full time.

disgraceful, especially in light of the comments from kenedy about the fans here. the positivity from the crowd in recent weeks has made an immense impact on the players.

also the lack of rotation  in recent months (rightly so, imo) is causing a little fatigue to set in physically and mentally so we were always going to have a blip.

All the games at the moment are essentially pointless, we are safe, and comfortably mid-table. To be honest, I don't give a flying fuck that we lost, the players took there foot off the gas slightly against a team still fighting for survival, and given how well we have been performing since Christmas, they deserve to be able to relax a bit, obviously losing sucks, but it feels nice to be able to sit back and not have to worry about every game, not sure why there is a bit of an argument going on about it .

It was just a bad day. Passes going all over the place.

The unfortunate thing is that clubs seem to have figured out if they give us an equal or majority of possession we rarely do anything with it.

We’re set up for counter attacking football, if a club sits back we have no plan for it.

You obviously didn't pay to sit and watch that shite.

The players should know that they're still playing for their futures at the club and that Rafa is ruthless when moving players on.

That's it exactly - we're massively overperforming considering our quality, and considering the quality of some of the teams below us. Southampton, Swansea, West Ham et al have all got better teams and squads. That's the difference Rafa brings. I don't think it's a stretch to say he could have kept any club up in this season's Premiership, looking at respective squads and comparing it to the job he did here.

I think if you've just earned above the average annual salary for a 90 min shift, then the people doing 8 hours every day, so they can afford to inflate your ego as well as your wallet, have every right to boo you.

It changes nothing though.
