Gallowgate Toon
Good interview with him on NUFCTV talking about Howe pulling him to one side and clearing his mind a bit. Clearly been taking the recent criticism to heart. He's done my head in loads this season. The criticism has been justifiable for some of his poor decision-making but he's clearly a great lad. gbandit
That was one of the best finishes of his career today. He didn’t overcomplicate it and he placed it perfectly. He had a second chance to do similar and messed it up. I’m pleased for him that he scored today and I’m pleased the away fans showed him some love. He deserves not to be hounded for his poor performances this season and I hope he can produce some good sub appearances going forward but it’s going to be good for him and for us when he’s taken out of the first team next year

This year he’s been so reliable, had some incredible games (PSG at home comes to mind) and he’s given me some amazing memories. Even at the game today singing he’s one of our own. His biggest critics are the armchair fans. The same ones that wanted Howe gone and the same people that think we can sell Jamal Lewis for £5M. Absolutely love having locals in the team. I know the arm chair fans over look that but it’s so important. This is just not true, overall this season he's been poor Was good up until his injury, since then he's mostly been turgid Playing through injury may well be the reason for that but he has been terrible, suggesting otherwise is absurd

gbandit
So reliable? Howay, I like the lad and I like that he cares so much. He was very good last season. This season he’s been in well over half his games. The injuries he’s carried obviously take some of the blame but let’s not make out like he’s had more than two-three good games this season while the rest have been hard to watch
Dokko
He's been poor in '24, I'd say 5/10 average, and I'm probably one of his biggest fans on here. The injury explains half of it, but think he's climbed inside his own head and beat himself up as well. He's that type of person. A good rest, some alternatives on the pitch and hopefully he's a good squad player for the next couple of seasons. He's not a 1st teamer, not with Joelinton, Bruno & Tonali, but he's better than what we've seen lately. Him, Miley & Anderson should be the backup to our 3 main mids, and there's Willock if he ever finds fitness.
Vinny Green Balls
He still has an uncanny knack for finding great positions. Thought he was great today, and looked like last year's Longstaff. Definitely a good back up to have.

Kid Icarus
I really like him from what I see of him as a person and would love nothing more than for him to do well, so I'm not saying this to be an arse or owt, but I remember earlier in the season talking on here about stats not meaning everything in the context of how Ginola changed everything in 95/96 and for a few months was the best I've ever seen. I don't know how my brain made this connection, but think about how people think of Ginola's season in 95/96 and Longstaff's season this season and then look at this. Ginola 95/96: 5 goals Longstaff 23/24: 7 goals

dave s
we finished in top 4 last season. and if it wasn’t for injuries we’d probably be finishing 5th or higher again this season. he’s been in the heart of the midfield all the way through .. he’s a fucking decent player imo

ChrisMcQuillan
Been playing through an ankle injury. He's clearly not the most gifted, but we've been lucky to have him available this season when other players haven't been. I look forward to seeing him injury free next season. He's clearly been below his best, but he gets given far too hard a time - especially on the BBC player rater functionality.
Holloway
j I hope he's retained because we're both from planet soft cunt

Get the impression it's probably some fat incel twat still living with his mam at 35 giggling away to himself while he repeatedly presses “1” for two hours. Probably the high point of his week. toontownman
When stats don't tell the whole story lol. Saw it posted as a reasonse to people calling for Elliot to be in the euro squad. Either way, Sean gets a shit load of harsh stick. Had he been able to have a rest and be rotated he wouldn't have looked as questionable imo.
MisterChamfer
Sean had very little input into those clean sheets, what an odd stat to put on a midfielder

He probably covered the most ground in a lot of those games. He defends that right area of the box so well and we concede very little goals from that side of the pitch. One of his primary roles is to help defend that area.
Zero
Bruno needs Longstaff or Joelinton to cover his space left behind. I think that’s pretty obvious
