Honestly, after seeing several replays, isn't Diaz the one moving his head towards Schär? Why doesn't he get the red instead then? Because he was the one rolling on the floor?

Because Diaz didn't make contact, although started it by pushing Schar for no reason after the whistle. Schar's so called Head Butt would not have knocked my grandmother over when she was in her 80's. Arsehole acted like he just got hit with a lead pipe. Some lad on here said that sort of thing should call for a red. We need the Father Ted Meme, down with that sort of thing.

Yeah, Schär was the agressor at first. But.. who was responsible for the contact? From what I have seen, Diaz caused the contact by moving his head. By definition, the one who moves the head forward is the one that should be red carded..?

depends on the angle.

from behind schar it looks a lot worse.

from the other angles there was barely any contact at all.

should have been either red or yellow but for both.

Unable to watch the game today so only seen the red card. Absolutely awful decision. The shoulder barge alone is worse than the supposed headbutting from either player. Let alone the fact that the ‘headbutt’ happens every weekend in the premier league but both players normally stay on the feet and do a pointless head to head thing. Diaz was a disgrace and if that isn’t overturned then it’s a joke.

Thank fuck for the three points…rant over!

Longstaff hugging him at full time made me sick, mind. As much as he was OK today that sort of sums up why he’ll never cut it as a top level midfielder, lack of ability with the ball aside.

Get ready for some comedy then....not a chance in hell this will be overturned.

The real comedy will come in the media tomorrow slating Schar for his violent conduct, and how good Diaz was for giving his team a chance 👏

Diaz acted like he'd been shot by Dirty Harry's 44 Magnum.

It's no different to the slightest bit of contact for a push in the back and the ref calls a foul. Everyone knows it's bullshit and the player goes down at the touch of a feather but it gets you free kicks. That's why every player does it, especially at the end of a game.

Diaz went down softly of course but you can't lead with your head. I'd be saying the exact same thing if it was Schar went down and Diaz got sent off. It was stupid by Schar, really stupid. We had just won the free kick from the foul on Bruno too.

Diaz is a fucking wanker but Schar gives the ref/VAR the option. It’s very soft but it’s daft from Schar in this day and age. Should’ve held firm and just laughed at the cunt after the initial barge.

Agree it is stupid from Schar and hopefully he has learned a valuable lesson but it’s a joke. How can the shoulder barge be judged as less? Both off the ball as far as I’m concerned and the shoulder barge was done with such aggression. The head-buts were done equally by both, it is just that one player wanted to cheat and con the ref and the other didn’t.

Anyone who thinks Schar is in the wrong is an absolute fanny tbh.

Guy fucking cheap shots Schar from behind and people act like he's supposed to just smile and carry on.

It's a physical, emotional sport. You should be entitled to stand up for yourself to some extent and in no way, shape or form was what Schar did in any way dangerous for Diaz.

Incredible that they've got things wrong to the point that they have video replay on place and THAT can be reviewed and held up as a red.

Don't blame Schar at all, if someone runs 20 yards to body check you they deserve a proper headbutt. The only thing Schar did wrong was not actually nut him properly. What actually happened is never a red card.

Schar does move his head to him like I thought I saw in real time. It’s never really violent conduct, but it is almost always a red card. Not really got any sympathy, stupid. Brereton also moves and should’ve been sent off too though following that.
