54
Feel free to delete if inappropriate but for the first time in my life-time we have a set of centre-backs that are generally class and that any of them could come in and do a job, even Clark to a degree. So I was just curious who people would pick as first choice CB's? Personally on ability id go Fernandez and Lejeune, but Lascelles offers a lot more other then being a CB so would probably start him, alongside Lejeune. Ketsbaia
We're blessed at centre back, which is a ridiculous statement for this football club I'd go Fernandez and Lejeune, individually, but it depends on how they'd be as a partnership. Stifler
Lescelles is still learning a bit. I’d always look to start him, but who partners him isn’t a problem. The problems at the back are obviusy our FB’s. On top that we need a better ball winning midfielder than Diame.

geordie_b
Fernandez plus any of the three (Not Clarke)
David Edgar
He's on 0 because he is a poor lad.
Guest firetotheworks
All about the partnership really. Individually I'd go Fernandez plus Lejeune/Schar.

Geordie Ahmed
Still Lascelles and Lejeune for me BUT the way Fernandez is playing I wouldn't drop him, would take a loss of form or injury, until then it's Lascelles and Fernandez.
xLiaaamx
I really don't like Lascelles and Fernandez as a pair. I like them as defenders but we just lack any quality on the ball at the back with both of them.

Guest neesy111
Lejeune and Fernandez.
Collage
Lescelles is still learning a bit. Very much so. But he's our captain, a great leader, and will become very good. Really didn't like that Ashley comment though...
toontownman
Lejeune and Fernandez I would like to see. Not sure about the lack of pace though. I think the depth and experience will be a blessing for lascelles he needs a bit of time off the pitch imo. He has had a ton of pressure on his shoulders and while being the captain has certainly added to his game it has also taken away a bit of time to learn without such pressure. Minhosa
Lejeune and Fernandez. Agreed. Lascelles can sit on the bench sucking his mate Ashley off for all I care. Turncoat.
KaKa
It's unbelievable the options we've managed to gather at this position when the manager has been given no money. Quite mind blowing really. Rafa is ridiculous. Think about some of the sums that were flying around for centre backs this summer just gone, and I genuinely can't think of any that have made a great impact. Really pray we somehow keep Rafa man. The guy is something else.
Dr.Spaceman
Was talking about it earlier and I said Lejeune and Fernandez, every time.
Ameritoon
Crazy that we went from falling apart anytime to Lascelles wasn't on the field to many people not even thinking he's the best option. Also crazy no one else was in for Fernandez after Swansea were relegated.
AsprillasShinPad
How is Clark even on this list?
54
How is Clark even on this list? Because he plays CB, and even played today.
KaKa
I think people are unnecessarily harsh about Clark man. The guy is a magnificent option as our 5th best centre back. He works hard and is a good, honest defender that has stepped in and not disgraced himself numerous times.
TRon
Not really fussed which two are first choice tbh, it's the first time in eons I've felt comfortable about picking any two from four centre backs. Even in our CL heydays under SBR we had Titus Bramble if we were lucky and Andy O'Brien if we weren't.

With Rafa we're less dependent on individual defenders thanks to tactics/organisation.
