Miguel Almirón: Bid of £10m to be Accepted from Atlanta United (Hope)

Recommended Posts

If we aren’t going to replace Almiron then I reckon Howe might want him to stay.

Howe probably think this squad has a fighting chance of qualifying for CL or Europa. Losing squad players that will contribute isn’t going to help unless they are replaced.

We did it with Shelvey mind. We were fortunate we didn’t have any major injuries until Willock near the very end.

I’d laugh if we ended up not selling him this month like.

This, and getting pied by DCL (who decides he'd rather stay at 'resurgent' Everton). That'd be the most NUFC thing ever

Even playing Almiron leaves us with no real RW though, that’s how ineffective he is for us now. It would be mad to turn down any decent bid imo.

As bad as he is, selling him and not replacing him makes the squad smaller when it’s already tiny. That becomes Howe’s problem when it’s actually a recruitment problem.

Watch him go back to ATL now and score 10 bangers in a row with his right foot

If we don't bring anyone in we will have to.

We will put Joelinton or Willock LW with Gordon shifting to the right until Barnes is back. (If we have to)

So you'd rather move every player from there position they play now to another just to compensate for one injury?

Is that what I said I’d rather do? Or is it just what I said we would do?

So if we paid £21m for him on a 5 1/2 year contract in Jan 19, but he signed a new 3 1/2 contract in Feb 23 and were getting £10m back for him have we actually nearly broke even with him in terms of FFP 🤣

Edit so original contract was omortisised at £3.8m per year so we had paid £15.2m we then signed a new contract which then spread the remainder of the £4.8m over another 3 1/2 years which is £1.3m a year so we have paid a further £2.6m of him, £17.7m in total plus salary.

That how it works?

People will remember him positively for his purple patch but personally it annoys me even more.

Simply knowing he had that in his locker and then somehow lost it again is so frustrating.

Shame as at times he seemed to be his own worst enemy be it confidence or belief.
