Minhosa
he can come back to take corners and free kicks but only if he can prove he can play an over lapping LB so he won't be coming His corners were gash and he had a free kick success rate of about 1:500 - Most ended up in Row ZZ, Tier 12. Granted, he scored some good free kicks, but I'm sure I wasn't alone in expecting him to hit the wall most of the time. Not a Robert fan at all. Thought he was a lazy, gobshite who had far too high an opinion of himself. I'd prefer a hardworking, yet less flambouyant Duff anyday.
Guest PJ87
LAURENT ROBERT is lining up a shock Newcastle return - at a £10million discount. Robert, 34, cost a whopping eight-figure fee when Sir Bobby Robson landed the former France international in 2001. But the free-agent winger is available for nothing and would love a second stint at St James' after earning cult status by playing a big part in the Geordies' back-to-back Champions League campaigns. Robert is training with Paris St Germain and has passed his number to Newcastle boss Chris Hughton. Toon's French new-boy Fabrice Pancrate - a close friend of Robert - said: "I speak to Laurent a lot and he told me he'd love to come back. "He still loves the club and I've spoken to the boss to tell him Laurent would like to come back and I gave him his number." Hughton admits he faces competition to land former England defender Sol Campbell who has sorted out his contract dispute with Notts County. Hughton said: "The biggest stumbling block for us will be his other options." ikri
I'd sign him back even if it was just to show Jonas how to cross a ball
alpal78
I'd sign him back even if it was just to show Jonas how to cross a ball seconded, he would have obviously loss his speed and agility, but his awesome technique would more or less still be there

clintdempsey
It'd be worth it only to actually to be excited when we're having FK's somewhere near the goal (in Robert's case that's 35-40 yards out).
Skirge
6 month deal bring him on home.. he can teach Jonas how to struke a football.
Thespence
How desperate is LR it was only last week he was hanging out of the arse of PSG who he has been training with but he got the cold shoulder there. If he is still willing to do the play for nothing thing I suggest he contacts one of his other former clubs Pompey.
Mowen
He was woefully shit by the time he was at Pompey, can't imagine he's improved since then.
Cronky
No thanks. He's a poser who's nowhere near as good as he thinks he is. We've got a good team spirit and he could only harm it.
Guest chris1210
Strangely seemed to lose it when he left us - was bizarre really as during his time here (under SBR) he was nothing short of incredible. Still can't quite believe the stick the lad used to get.

It is all relevant though as he maybe was not as good or consistent as others at that time but if he was playing now he would be our best attacking player easily. Guest Stephen927
He would only ruin the good memories people have of him. He is not even Championship standard these days.
JH
One if the most frustrating players I've ever seen. He was also the only one capable of exciting the f*** out of me with his ability at times though. Now? I don't know, I'll let someone else decide. SBR built the whole attack around Shearer (That will make you sick I know) & Nobby quarterbacked it.
Ronaldo
In 03-04 nobody came close. He got 12 goals and a s*** load of passes leading to goals. And was Booed off against Wolves.

nobby_solano
invite him for a trial, if he doesn't do well, don't sign him. if he does, sign him until the end of the season with a view to a longer contract if he does well. simples
