Nice to see some of the Newcastle myths are still going strong.

Not reading that, however I assume they’re still apoplectic that we complained about their fucking death trap of a stadium.

EDIT: Against my better judgement I clicked. I suppose selling anything that isn’t nailed down/essential for the purpose of being a football club and then ensuring the club operates within whatever meagre means remain is a sustainable way of running a business.

EDIT TO THE EDIT: “He’d invest in the stadium, training ground and we’d definitely have no issues with HMRC.” Those cunts are tapped. Is there another Mike Ashley?

For anyone who doesn't want to click on their forum, here's the gist:

They think Mike Ashley is a bad owner, but probably more competent than the chancer they have at the moment.

Newcastle fans were the main problem during MA's reign cause we wanted our club to achieve it's maximum potential and not fade into obscurity and become another middling championship team who used be famous but now have no realistic chance of ever being a 'somebody' again...........Sheffield Wednesday for example!

It literally took until the second post for the usual BS to rear it's head...

You've got to look at the expectations of the fans, Newcastle fans say he failed them but their expectations are ridiculous. They expect to be challenging for he premier league every year and playing in the champions league.

I for one am very disappointed all we're doing now is competing to be in the top 4.

I have sympathy with any fanbase whose club is being destroyed by a parasite owner. For that reason I can completely understand why they'd pine for the first link to someone who'll hypothetically release them from that misery. It makes sense to me that someone in that position would welcome Mike Ashley.

As for their sneering comments about our expectations rendering our views inadmissible... the irony is that there's probably some truth to it. The Championship is worlds away from the Premier League and their expectations - I assume - are different to ours. If they're happy to exist just for existing's sake, I'm sure even Ashley's methods could just about navigate the challenge of consolidating them as a middling second tier club.

If they have ambitions of being one of the best in the league and/or becoming a Premier League club, forget it.

NB. Obviously the detail of our supposed expectations (i.e. wanting to win the league every year) is bullshit.

Jesus christ what a bunch of muppets.

Two promotions as a success its akin to Tories crowing about the economy growing at record 5% - after collapsing 10% due to some dumb policy.

And on infrastructure, it's a recorded fact that spending under Ashley was the worst of any Premier League club by a substantial margin. Changing rooms were literally falling to pieces, players were forced to use wheelie bins or inflatable kiddy pools rather than therapy baths, decaying stadium fabric was painted over rather than repairs. The list of neglects was huge.

And then there's being the only club in the PL not to experience growth in commercial income. He plastered his tatty logo all over the stadium for nowt.

Vote yes. Let them have him. Just like WBA happily took Brucey. Let them learn the lesson.

Yea, when they fired Cabbage I went on the WBA board and one lad said "The Geordies tried to warn us, they tried. We didn't listen and we should have."

Following their relegation from the Premier League (over 20 years ago) they've went on to get relegated a further two times under the previous owner.

Under the current owner, they've only been relegated once.

Seems like he's turned them into a stable Championship to me.

I think you’re underestimating the potentially disastrous consequences of Mike Ashley TBH. We’re lucky that Rafa called him up and saved the day, we could easily have ended up in League One.

Agree on the desperate fans stuff, but swapping one horrific owner for another isn’t an answer.
