I wondering Ashley would buy a club like Bolton? It would fit his MO - buy a declining brand on the cheap.

He'd have to spend a huge amount money to get the same profile he has with Newcastle - theres no club that serves his purpose better than us.

Caulkin says the French group aren’t the prospective buyers he’s aware of.

His lot must be the Kenyon group of tyre kickers.

Given his credibility and status he's probably sharing his information for the right reasons but I'm so apathetic towards the whole club it barely raises any interest.

Apparently the club put up a statement on its twitter account early but its been taken down. It read:

A Club statement for the fans regarding the purchase of Newcastle United will be issued later this evening.

Few people saying they saw it, with screenshots. In all honesty any club statement right now would be bad for any takeover. If there was one, it will be them stating its off.

It’ll be about the uncertainty making it impossible to appoint a manager so Redfearn will be caretaker manager. Also means no signings so win-win

They always respond in one way or another to the threat of protest. My default assumption is that every single thing you see - which has feasibly come from the club's side - is an attempt to mislead with a view to quelling dissent. People were outside his house yesterday; I'm not surprised that we're hearing stuff.

So exhausting being in a constant battle against your own club. Groan.

Takes one second for someone to take a screenshot of a page so doubt it. If it was true then it would be a takeover going ahead as they wouldn’t put one out at this stage saying it wasn’t happening especially as there are SUPPOSEDLY a number of groups still competing.

He’s put himself in a sticky position if he doesn’t sell though.

How? It's not as if there's any actual quotes in that article, it could all just be written off as idle press gossip.

If he doesn't sell, what's anyone going to do about it ?

He's untouchable and he knows it.
