Guest The Little Waster
"If the leak is from Mike Ashley’s side why would he do this when he repeatedly claims that it is the exact opposite of how he likes to do business? Unless of course there was suspicion about the nature of the bid or a doubt over finances, for example." "I remain firmly of the belief that if you understand Mike Ashley, how he works and his influencers and agree to his terms, in his way and maintain confidence he will sell to anyone, as long as you have the money." LV
Tad harsh in Odin there, it is widely expected that Coronavirus will dampen the worldwide economy, and disproportionately affect companies who rely on Chinese supply chains. https://www.theguardian.com/news/2020/feb/10/will-the-coronavirus-outbreak-derail-the-global-economy It is certainly going to dampen annual results for companies like Sports Direct, although at best it would stop Ashley going into negotiations with a very strong hand. At a minimum you’d expect SD annual accounts to refer to Coronavirus or wider global shocks as a mitigating factor. Trying to convince the helicopter anoraks that water is wet is a lesson in futility. I don’t mind taking a bit of stick but when 95% of the people who post on this thread literally contribute nothing other than reposting bullshit from Reddit or Twitter it gets a bit tedious. There aren’t enough facepalm meme’s for this shite

Kanj
coronavirus is greatly impacting chinese business in/out - but should have no impact on our takeover unless its Chinese money. the global financial crash prob did have an impact on sale of club, that actually is believable. t00nraider
Man City were a much better project and value for money so Ashley didn't have much impact anyways. He wouldn't have sold either. If we can spend £40 mil on a striker, we can spend big again this summer so stop wallowing!
Guest chopey
If the choice was between Saudi Arabia buying the club, Red Bull buying the club or Ashley remaining as owner what would peoples preference be?
