KennyUtd Posted yesterday at 09:35 Share Posted yesterday at 09:35 The disrespect shown here to our very own Sean Longstaff is staggering. If he was called Longstafferini we'd be calling for his immediate inclusion. Probably not mind, he's a bit shit really. 😆

huss9 Posted yesterday at 11:44 Share Posted yesterday at 11:44 "Newcastle United are continuing to assess Joelinton on a day-to-day basis with club insiders not writing off his season just yet. The £40million man missed the 3-0 win over Ipswich Town last weekend and has not trained since. The 28-year-old will be sidelined for the trip to Brighton & Hove Albion, but a return before the end of the campaign has not been ruled out. No risks will be taken on Joelinton, and should Newcastle bag their Champions League place early, he could be rested with Eddie Howe knowing he has plenty of back-up in midfield. However, by the same token if he is deemed fit enough and Newcastle need him in a potentially crunch late season game, he could come back into consideration." andycap Posted yesterday at 11:52 Share Posted yesterday at 11:52 (edited) When we played arsenal away howe went with a five at the back because joelinton was out and his bench options aren't good enough defensively. I think howe might do the same in the two away fixtures. And use Willock in the two at home switching back to our familiar 4-3-3. Then we'll assess where we are against Chelsea. If possible, I think he needs to play against Chelsea regardless.
Mazzy Posted yesterday at 13:25 Share Posted yesterday at 13:25 Out of the three midfielders he's the one you'd prefer be missing but equally he's so instrumental to us it's going to be a big loss regardless. Thankfully there's not many games left and maybe it won't matter, we can only hope.
Ronaldo Posted yesterday at 14:50 Share Posted yesterday at 14:50 The timing is awful. The next 3 games are perfect for what he can and can’t provide.
PauloGeordio Posted yesterday at 15:14 Share Posted yesterday at 15:14 Didn't we beat Arsenal at their place without big Joe? It proves we can beat other teams without him. Especially at St James' (ideally he'd be in the team, but I'm not writing us off just yet without him).

I would even consider it for home fixtures against potential banana skins like Chelsea.

Lush Vlad
That formation would surely mean Trippier coming inside more to CM like Hall would do in the Arsenal game. Not sure I fancy Schar being left defending that channel too often. I think Willock gets another go on Sunday and he really needs to take his chance these last 3-4 games. I do think maybe we’ll go with 5 at the back again v Arsenal.
