Super Duper Branko Strupar Posted Tuesday at 23:42 Share Posted Tuesday at 23:42 Just noticed him in the celebrations singing along to Home Newcastle with a scarf above his head. I want a Joelinton highlights reel of that performance and I want it now. What a man.
Geordie Ahmed Posted Wednesday at 00:53 Share Posted Wednesday at 00:53 I still can't get over his transformation, it's been utterly insane It was already complete well before this game but this was the cherry on top, he's cemented club legend status with that performance (as have a few others)
Ronson333 Posted Wednesday at 12:06 Share Posted Wednesday at 12:06 https://sportwitness.co.uk/lets-not-stop-here-joelinton-still-struggling-for-words-tells-brazilians-why-newcastle-fans-so-special/#google_vignette Joelinton certainly sees the victory as a springboard for success, insisting he and his teammates won’t stop with this one. “I have no words to describe that everything is going is through in my head at this moment. It’s a whirlwind of feelings, emotions, things I can’t explain. A gigantic title, which will be scored in Newcastle history,” he said. “I came to the club in 2019, thinking precisely of moments like this. We have a huge project at the club, with a winning ambition, and gradually we are going in that direction. We arrived in the Champions League recently, two seasons ago we were runners-up of the League Cup, and now we have reached this title.” The success is certainly a special moment for Joelinton, whose time in the North East has not been an easy one to say the least. He initially struggled when arriving at the club as a striker and was written off completely before the arrival of Howe, who moved him into a midfield role instead. The Brazilian has flourished since then and is very much a key player for the Magpies and is now a firm fan favourite, something he is grateful for. “I just have to thank all that affection this crowd has for me since I arrived,” he added. “I try every game to match this on the field, with a lot of desire and delivery. This is the moment of Newcastle and the whole city. Let’s not stop here. That was a first achievement. We will follow in this footprint ambitious to mark our name in the history of the club.”

Skjaere9
Really poor for Brazil today I thought… at fault for the goal they conceded after dawdling on the ball just outside the box, and generally just looked very sluggish. Not sure if hungover, literally or figuratively, from Sunday? Or maybe just a bit at sea in Brazil’s tactical setup (they had him playing centrally in a double pivot which I don’t think we’ve ever seen for NUFC)? Feel bad for him though, I’m sure he’ll be catching abuse from fans back home and hate to see anything knock him down off his perch as all-conquering colossus of the universe.
