as we have goals all over the team we don’t need striker 3 to be be superb, just a body either with top league experience or with great potential.

Getting that much back for Wood is arguably the best bit of business we've done since the takeover and I'm one of those who think he fulfilled his role in that run to end the 21-22 season.

We are in a predicament like isak since joining seems to get injuries that take a while to shake off. Wilson cannot play more than a game a week. Surely howe must know this and could of kept kuol or minteh with that in mind until January. With the amount of games we had to play we started the season really light at the top end of the pitch with him sending them both out on loan.

A James classic, a mistake to sell Wood. Howay man, even you can’t believe that. Just because we don’t have three strikers doesn’t mean the answer was keeping Wood

The only people for whom ‘keeping Wood’ should be ever in their mind are male porn stars

Kuol was a sub in the a league and Minteh had just broken through in Denmark, it’s kinda obvious neither of these kids would be ready this season.

Gordon is a better option up front than either of them.

If its Hope, can we shoot the messenger? The guy is a non-stop stream of negativity, much like the paper he works for.

Wilson has no problem with ability for where we are in 2023. That goals per minute record is not a fluke. A bit more luck with Isak, injured on international duty FFS, and we'd be able to give Wilson the rest he needs. The backstory about no number three is FFP and years of neglect that will hold us back for still some time to come.

Gordon will step in if needed. We’ll have enough for Bournemouth. Then some players can rest. Tripps could do without international games atm! (All our internationals wrapped in cotton wool please) [emoji38]

If haaland and Alvarez get injured I’m pretty certain City would find some £80m kid in their academy to fit it. Not sure anyone else has that option though,

They just sold a really, really promising  young striker. Don’t know what else they’ve got tucked away, but Cole Palmer is going to be a world class striker. Would have loved us to sign him. £40m would have probably seems a lot/been too big a stretch FFP wise, but he’d be starting for us now.

This could be pretty harsh as he's probably not even playing at 90% fitness but he has looked a level below the quality & possibly physicality required for the CL, it's a shame he's had to wait to this point in his career to get to it rather than 2-3 years ago.

Third striker possibility I'd love to hear people's opinion on.

Kelechi Iheanacho. 27 years old. Top level experience with Man City and Leicester. Contract up in June of next year and so would be available for a good price. No more than £20 million max I imagine.

Thoughts?

Would be a no from me. Seen him ruin far too many straightforward chances. He has a lot of talent and maybe Howe could get some consistency out of him, I did like him in the past but his career seems like it’s just fallen apart a bit

I hear you.

Obviously I'm more biased because he's a Super Eagle, and so would still love to see him realise that talent he has. Because of Howe getting the best of players is the only reason I could see it maybe working.

January is going to be tough to get in a quality striker and so wondered if he might be an easy deal to do due to his contract situation.
