It must be a fluke cos the best managers take at least two seasons to get the formation and team play sorted

It's unbelievable man. Don't understand how he gets away with it

And of course an added irritation being that Vieira is yet another manager we were strongly linked with that we didn't manage to get in the end.

Mind, no way Vieira would have got the likes of Gallagher and Edouard if he had come here.

His signings would have been exactly the sort our owner typically prefers.

Pretty certain MA would have rather got in Edouard rather than Callum Wilson, from a future value standpoint.

And Gallacher is a loan not too dissimilar to the Willock loan we did last season.

Marc Guehi looks like he will prove to be a really good signing and is just 21 years old, so again the future value comes into play there.

Michael Olise from reading is another young talent he got in at just 19 years old.

Joachim Andersen is just 25 too and looks great value at around 15 million.

These are the types of signings that would have fit in with what Ashley claims he wants to do.

Lamptey crap now? He murdered us last season.

Nope.  Just coming back from major injury, not rushing him back.

I don’t actually think Palace will finish much better off than previously tbh but this idea that you can’t change the way of play in a short space of time is rubbish.

I'm only just catching up on the weekend's goals.

Toney is top quality, the guy is going to be a Premier League staple over the coming years. He seems to have a great relationship with Mbeuemo.

Early days, but Gray and Townsend are looking very shrewd buys for Everton, their midfield has so much more balance.

Also another car crash performance from Hojbjerg on Sunday. He was absolutely embarrassing for the first goal.

Vieira has already got Palace controlling the game so much better and looking far more dangerous going forward.

That Palace job was not an easy one to step into either with the amount of turnover in players over the summer. Pretty impressive.

Yeah but according to Bruce 'these things don't happen overnight'

If anyone missed it Carragher's analysis of Spurs was great last night. Mad mentality:

I think Carragher would make a decent coach IMO
