Does anyone else reckon that when VVD falls off it’s gonna be a brutal one like say Kompany or G Nev. I just have that feeling about him.

I have this same inkling for Kyle Walker.

I quite like McTominay after previously not rating him, he could be for a Man Utd what Henderson is to LFC, but he’s surrounded by the wrong type of players and I’d say people saying he’s not at the required level for a title team, which has been labelled at him, his more illustrious team-mate Pogba who on his day is absolute class, isn’t or hasn’t shown either, and that’s because of an imbalance and players being the wrong fit. I guess I’m saying some teams need certain right fits and McTominay strikes me as being more of a right fit in the right team like Henderson become for a LFC. He’s a level or 3 ahead of Longstaff, he’d be great here if we ever got the chance to sign him/Man Utd we’re to sell him.

The criticism of McTominay baffles me to be honest.

It’s weird some players like gradually get worse and others just like overnight go to shit. I can remember watching Neville , I wish I could remember the game and he just looked completely done , like the game was too fast for him, I’m sure he retired after it. It was tough to watch

Remember it being sudden for Neville as well, could be the quality dipped around him too, didn’t have the support he once had.

For me, Walker strikes me as a dense but talented player who probably trains and takes care of himself “just enough” while also being a touch irresponsible. Getting caught out during lockdown, some of his other shenanigans, etc.

He constantly seems to play really well whenever I watch your games, he’s not world-class and never will be, but sometimes you need a player who can just do the basics and play a more sensible and balanced game. Doesn’t seem to shirk like some of your players have been doing lately…

I don’t think he’s very good at all, which is no secret. If you look at the midfields of the big clubs he doesn’t get in any of them. I wouldn’t have him over Ndidi or Tielmans either. Neves is a better footballer than him at wolves. Hojberg ditto at Spurs. Even Allan and Doucore at Everton are better players and offer more.

Man United can’t persist with Fred/McTom if they want to start winning leagues

He’s not at their level, but I think he could hold his own in a team with players of that level, alongside and next to him anyway. He does lack real mobility though and has next to no creativity in driving forward with the ball or even off the ball positionally, he’s a simple short range pass and go, neat and tidy, get back in position, sit, hold and give it to the better footballers type of player which is no bad thing in the right team alongside better technical players.
