RIP https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/58043779 It amazes me that Jimmy Greaves is outliving all these guys. Probably my Dad’s favourite player of all time, and despite being an alcoholic for decades he’s still going and has now been married to the same woman for 63 years. Fair play. GideonShandy
Jack Charlton, Norman Hunter, Trevor Cherry and now Terry Cooper gone within the space of about a year. Cooper was one of the first to figure out that a left back could contribute more than just marking the opposing right winger.

nbthree3
654 goals in 716 games, not including the 68 goals in 62 internationally https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gerd_Müller#Career_statistics - the headline stat (487) is incredible for league only appearances Edited August 15, 2021 by nbthree3

George Bailey
Sad news A true great in every sense. loved the German side 72-76 efficient and ruthless in equal measure. Still probably the greatest national team ever for me. RIP to one of the greatest strikers of all time.
Disco
One of those who’s numbers don’t seem to be real. Obviously before my time but always looked the ultimate penalty box player in what highlights I have seen. Lent his name to some magnificent trainers too. RIP.
