Probably out of our reach if Forest stay up which is looking likely.

They are asking a record fee for a midfielder.

Tonali money plus some extra cash. Either that or wait til City inevitably want to sell him in two years.

If city buy him and put him on the shelf like they did Kalvin Phillip's we won't him like

City at cunts though man. Him not working out there means nothing and just benefits clubs like us who'll get the best out of him. I feel like he's destined to come back at some stage.

Delusional if you think he’s coming here. He’ll cost more than Tonali to buy at a time we’re likely to have to bring in more in fees than we’re paying out due to the impending settlement with UEFA (precedent being Villa).

Forest will gouge clubs for MGW and Elliot and we don’t have the extra CL revenue next season to pay that premium.

Meanwhile 115 charges remain unresolved…

Sadly true.

Addendum: What frustrates me is the inevitable Pep Pathway for this. He has as much chance of becoming Fabian Delphi, Kalvin Phillips or Grealish than a Stones or Walker.

Would Love him back he’s really grown over the last few years, travesty we had to sell him to Nottingham Forest

We didn’t have to sell him. We chose to sell him over more mature players.

A lot of short term thinking that summer

In hindsight the right move was to sell Gordon

The big one was Joelinton. He was at peak value.

You sell at peak value.

Thats where not having a proper DOF killed us. Selling both your best youngsters is short sighted especially with an older squad.

Liverpool were only willing to lowball for Gordon.

We didn't receive any offers for Joelinton.

Hardly any fan gave the slightest fuck we were selling Elliot Anderson tbf. Probably more commotion over Minteh, which was still minimal versus the uproar there'd have been about a Gordon sale.

In hindsight selling Gordon for big money would have been great but it wasn't that evident at the time and no fans were calling for it.

Also worth noting that selling Gordon instead of selling Minteh/Anderson was what they attempted to do first, much to everyone's exasperation when it was revealed.

I think most of us couldn't believe we were getting as much as £35mil for Anderson

For a player that hardly had played any minutes at the time it did seem a good price.  Hats off to Forrest though.

Because we had just given him a bumper new contract after Ashworth left.

Ashworth planned to sell Joelinton (and/or Bruno).  We never got the Bruno bid and the Joelinton contract stopped any sales.  That’s why we were in total panic.
