Next summer. Unrealistic to get a replacement and we need to scrape together everything we have this season.

Come next summer he will have 1 year left on his deal and nearly 27 at the start of next season if he stays lets hope he contributes more otherwise your talking longstaff level fee without the 100% home grown profit.

As Ramsey is the Willock equivalent it would be nice to sell Willock and get one more technical player that can cover for Tonali or Bruno, assuming that Miley can cover for one of them. May that is BEK or someone else I don’t know

Aye this would really take the window to another level. I can’t see us getting anyone to take Willock right now mind.

My God hes injured again? Need to be signing the Leicester lad or that Croatian  Inter and us were looking at. Worst case it leaves us able to sell a midfielder to Saudi or if cartel comes for one next year. need to be planning CL is out this year, prepare the squad to be deep enough, and with enough high ceiling players coming through to challenge the season after.

Hopefully Ramsey signing lights a fire in this lads arse to push to be better again.

Hopefully not because the minute Willock sprints he'll pull a calf muscle. Or blow a hamstring. If a defender makes contact his knee will need reconstruction. Finally, his achilles could snap again, but given the elasticity is gone nobody would hear the snap and he'd hafta crawl off to the sideline. After his injury record at Arsenal, time to sell him was when he got a few niggles and his value was high, sadly, we couldn't really do it as our squad was thin. There was a summer, first under Eddie, was probably the time, although I'm sure we thought he'd come on as a player if we could avoid injuries for a time. Shame for the lad, wouldnt wish it on anyone, but he will never play weeks of football in a row, his body is simply unable.

Per transfermarkt:

Willock:

Season     Days out       Injuries

24/25        32 days             3

23/24        221 days           3

22/23        19 days             1

21/22         43 days            3

19/20         13 days             1

https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/joe-willock/verletzungen/spieler/340329

Ramsey

24/25         39 days          2

23/24        270 days         4

22/23          47 days         1

Willock's main issue was that awful run of hamstring into hamstring into achilles into achilles, which may have been exacerbated by not being fully up to full fitness before another one happened again. Always a higher risk of reinjury when coming back.

Ramsay had one season where he did a metatarsal, then foot injury and a long time out for a toe injury. He's also had time out with a hamstring issues last three years, which is perhaps more concerning. Hopefully the annus fuckedmetatarsalis was a one-off and he's largely ok.

I think Brummie said the metatarsal, foot and toe injuries listed are actually all the same injury.

Possibly - looks like the 'foot injury' is listed as starting 2 weeks after the metatarsal injury ended so probably a reoccurrence.

'Toe injury', the longest of the 3, is down as happening 3 months after the foot injury ended. Would make sense it's a reoccurrence. Hopefully just desperately bad luck one year and not a problem going forward. Waterboard him with milk to build those bones up.
