Nine Posted July 30, 2025 Share Posted July 30, 2025 (edited) He was so good under Howe for the first full season, a shame the manner of his injuries can and have literally ruined a good career. As others have said, I wouldn’t be surprised to hear he’s struggled mentally with being off the pitch for so long. Howe had him playing in a pretty unique way for us for that first 4th season, he repeatedly made many intelligent runs per game and generally caused havoc in the middle for other teams. alexf Posted August 1, 2025 Share Posted August 1, 2025 I think simply speaking, his greatest asset was his athleticism and speed and his injuries have taken some of that away and therefore he's no where near as effective or dynamic as he used to be. I dont like to knock our own players but seriously he's not been good enough and the injury set backs just add to the need to replace him miley and big joe have not managed injury free seasons either I really hope a midfielder is on the shopping list.
