Theres still plenty that can go wrong, plenty of time to go through a terrible patch. However what is pleasing is we look solid at the back, and look capable of the similar grinding out results even when playing poorly as last season. If Rafa stays and no ridiculous injury crisis think overwhelmingly we'll be fine. However that is a BIG if. It's entirely possible Ashley will sabotague us, or something else ridiculous. So I'll stay at 3 or 4ish.

Although we've deserved our wins we've also had a bit of luck and the other teams having bad misses. Will take the tight wins as we will get stung by a bad decision at some point. Just nice to see that we are organised and difficult to break down. Such a massive difference since the Huddersfield game.

I think we can look at teams like Stoke and West Ham and Swansea et al and think we can take points from them home and away, there is a lot of average teams in the division which we are one btw, but we are not crap and that's the main thing. We will struggle, but Rafa will keep us up.

And then be off... /HTT

Yeah but I think the effect of that is that the 4th place we're in won't last, we'll probably be mid table at best, however it looks like there are a lot of worse teams than us. For perspective Sunderland last season would only get past 9 points in December.

Any other manager and we'd be struggling big time. Rafa has the team so organised and disciplined that we should be fine. Teams will find it hard to break us down, especially the poorer sides in the league who haven't got enough to beat us on our day.

We missed way more chances in the game today than Stoke, all of Joselu's misses were gilt edge chances worse than the one real miss they had. Huddersfield had one chance and took it, Swansea had perhaps two all game,  West Ham were barely in the match, even spuds didn't really create a lot, when it was 11 v 11 they hadn't created anything. Rafa stops other teams playing, we've not been lucky at all in our wins and a little unlucky against Huddersfield for sure, really should have been playing against 10 man spuds for 60 mins too, if the ref had some balls.

I don't understand people's negativity saying we've only played shite teams. We've just been promoted and we beat 3 teams that have been in the Premier League for years. Winning 3 games in a row in the Premier League is no easy task for any team outside of the top 6. Especially after 2 defeats and a poor summer for transfers. It's a great accomplishment for this squad and long may it continue.

We are ceratainly in the "lets get to 40 points as quick as we can" mode, rather than looking further up the table, we still should be rightly ranked as one of the teams likely to be in the relegation mix at the end of the season however we've made an excellent start and made the most of a friendly fixture list, more wins and points on the board and our ambitions may change. As Ian says, Rafa is such a freakin genius it's hard to envisage us going down and the squad although short in some areas has a fair bit of young talent too.

We are so mentally stronger than we have been in ages I don't think we'll have a terrible run all season. We used to just collapse and then underperform for months on end. Not to say we won't have a poor run but Rafa will get us out of it.
