TheInfiniteOdyssey
Tony Evans, self-styled Scouse Socialist with a egregious FSG propaganda piece here for his beloved venture capitalists This Means More indeed https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/project-big-picture-rick-parry-liverpool-manchester-united-football-league-efl-b985407.html As early as 2012, Henry was telling acquaintances that the sport’s fiscal basis was fundamentally flawed. It annoyed the 71-year-old that little more than a handful of clubs in the Premier League drew global interest. The Big Four, Five or Six paid the bills. It was hard to see the point of the likes of Blackburn Rovers, Blackpool, Wigan Athletic, Birmingham City, Stoke City and half a dozen other clubs. In American terms, the division was stacked with minor league clubs playing in the majors. Playing English football, even against the ‘lesser’ sides, is demanding. The elite, Henry figured, were getting the worst of both worlds. The big clubs felt sharing the money equally was unfair and began a campaign against it Nevertheless, Henry and – in particular – Parry have the game’s interests at heart Liverpool, United and the EFL have attempted to bypass the inertia and provide a roadmap for the future Complete stooge
Miggys First Goal
If the Americans want total control, then they should just form their own league with brand new franchises and leave our football the fuck alone.

xLiaaamx
Brighton's AMEX included? There's a vote bought. Fulham's new development? Vote bought. West Ham getting their rent back? Vote bought. Sheffield United in the last 10 years have developed, as have Leicester. Fuck me. That'll get it passed.

Consortium of one
I don't think it will happen as proposed. There are good points but at its roots its a shameless money grab that won't pass as is.
TRon
If the Americans want total control, then they should just form their own league with brand new franchises and leave our football the fuck alone. I don't think they realise relegation and promotion is what makes English football the product that it is. It's actually one of the most exciting aspects of the game. Even when you have lost interest in your own team once they are safe, who doesn't like to keep an eye on the relegation fight or promotion for that matter? It's what keeps the season going right to the end.
wormy
Unbelievable. Football was already dead but apparently the top six have discovered they all have a bit of a necrophilia kink.

Ketsbaia
Perhaps they knew this would get negotiated so thought they may as well start with an extreme, ridiculous proposal and wear people down to a compromise. Problem is, the most despicable part of the project happens to be the only reason they're doing it. So I doubt the 'power grab' bits would go away. Stifler
Rick Parry is playing some game here. Chris_R
What happens if one of these clubs are relegated. They'll get voted back in. What I’m getting at is will they still be apart of the “big6”. Or does someone else come in and take their place? There isn't officially a "Big 6". There's just going to be 9 longest-consecutively serving clubs who get to decide how things are run, and they only need 6 of those 9 votes to pass anything. So if 4 of the big 6 agree but 2 don't, they need the agreement of 2 of the other 3. But effectively provided that big 6 agree with each other and just keep looking after each others' interests, they've got all the rules and voting sewn up between them. It's utterly rancid. True, if the proposals are true and the type of money they are offering newly promoted teams then the "big 9" should be more than safe each season. Especially with the loan rules they want to bring in as well. I wouldn't be surprised that if this did get given the go ahead that eventually it would lead to a PL 1 & PL 2 with a much larger European competition. TRon
If we aren't part of the Big 9, then Ashley's case against the PL becomes even stronger. Good luck in selling the club to someone else if we are effectively locked out of any future success.
