I think it’s pretty common knowledge that they want the Ministry site, and I believe have first dibs on it. They need to wait for HMRC to move out first though.

For a new training ground or for a new stadium?

Re the issues with Newcastle United being owned allegedly by the Saudi State, interesting to see Kier Starlen off to Saudi to wangle a free trade agreement,I assume all the crap we get will now move on and be allowed to run the club without worrying about the financials , or am I nieve.

Given that neither UEFA nor the PL are run by the UK govt, I’d say that it won’t change a thing

Edit: and we are owned by KSA, nothing alleged about it.

Well, after a long and arduous, hard fought one horse race, it looks like the Saudis will finally get the 2034 World Cup confirmed this Wednesday, well done lads you played a blinder.

Not sure where you’ve got that from but odds on the ministry site will become housing, Tyneview Park is already being advertised before DWP vacate, probably in next couple of years.

There will be a new training ground but it won’t be in a heavy residential area like Longbenton, far more likely to be out towards the Airport.

Not a fan of the Saudis to say the least, don't want us to be owned by them, and think the comparison between their ownership of us and the private capital ownership of other clubs was apples and oranges, but, I do very much think that in this case which is much more like-for-like, the reaction to it has a huge tinge of double standards and Western exceptionalism to it tbh. It's one degree of separation and a foreign policy vs a domestic policy of difference.

Mad that City are expanding their stadium when it they currently struggle to fill the bloody thing apart from when they have big games.

The cost to expand doesn’t count against PSR. Any extra money from tickets sold whether it be football or other events does. No brainer for them.

Don’t hate the player hate the game. PSR actually allowing clubs to justify raising ticket prices to their fanbases as only way of competing. It’s evil genius.

Ahh, okay. Makes sense.
It’s going to look absolutely tragic for certain games like. I was at a CL game this season and I felt slightly embarrassed for them.

If you look at the plans for the expanded stand at Man City, the seats aren't for punters to sit in, they're just tens of thousands of seat shaped LED's to broadcast massive adverts

They've also proposed removing the hybrid grass from their pitch and replacing it with a giant LED advert

Allegedly.

sunderland in for a windfall?

Nah. Local councils will keep their share, the share they are buying has been bought and sold a few times in the past.
