WHOOP have gone from strength to strength over the last 8 or so years. Without checking I'd confidently say that the company is valued in the billions.

Their annual revenue is 250m dollars.

Another firm that's way overvalued with private equity money.

Also Google with the new Fitbit have eaten massively into their territory.

They definitely operate in a competitive market with very strong competition and not much of a MOAT.

But I could careless about any of that just show us the money

Was actually considering getting one but the subscription puts me off. Anyone recommend anything similar that's just as 'reliable' and not 150  a year?

I’ve had a whoop for 2 years. I love it. I’d defo recommend.

Fair market value is what someone decides to pay nothing more nothing less.

Exactly.

To a degree, I can understand fair market value kicking in, if a company was prepared to throw crazy money at a club for the sponsorship, like stupid figures.

However on the flipside, to change it deal to deal, just because you have an average/bad season (or two, in spurs case) is bit dodgy.

So Sela or an alternative new sponsor couldn't give us the same £25m deal again, just because we finished 12th last season?

It's probably ai slop honestly. Not knocking the poster but markets are about price discovery and you can't really calculate value when your talking about intangible benefits.

The problem with such items is people will cite them with little understanding and be quoted as if they are some sort of primary source.

Fairly sure it isn't AI slop:

Valuation methodology statement

The valuation is conducted using a market regression approach, in accordance with the principles of IVS 105 Valuation Approaches and Methods.

The valuation date is 1st June 2026.

The Sponsor is an independent valuer with no vested or commercial interest in the outcomes of the valuations. The Sponsor does not buy, sell or recommend sponsorships on behalf of brands, agencies or rights holders, and is entirely privately owned - under no pressure from parent organisations or shareholders with a stake in the result.

A full market-based regression methodology can be viewed here:
