Could always appreciate what he did for us and how much he's moved us on since those dark days, but just never thought he quite had enough about him to win anything here, more based on gut feeling than anything else tbf, but never been so happy to be so wrong.

I want to see him properly backed in the market and see how far he can take us, with the pressure of first cup off our backs we really have a chance to soar to even bigger heights if we get the ingredients right 👍

Thank you Edward.

I thought we might never win anything, but more because of our club and our team playing resources than our manager.

If Howe isn’t an elite manager then I’m not sure what one would look like. I mean that quite literally, I can’t imagine a better set of attitudes and behaviours than what this guy practices.

Doesn’t feel like that long ago where I hated almost everything and everybody to do with this club and was wanting them to lose games because I wanted them all to suffer. It’s not all down to Howe, but he’s the ongoing catalyst that Keegan was in 1992.

It’s a complete 180 in terms of culture and expectations which shows what we could have possibly been doing for the last 20 years if the club had chosen to and yes, it was a choice. Days like yesterday were always possible but we had people actively deciding against it and openly saying having ambition is too risky. “Thank God we’re not in Europe again”.

Greatest NUFC manager in my lifetime. We’re extremely lucky to have him, and he’s lucky to be our head coach at such a pivotal time in our history. It’s a very convenient marriage for both parties. He has everything needed to end his career in the same discussion as the absolute best in English football history.

Howe is the most talented, responsible manager I've ever seen. Even after Sunday, he didn't party with the rest of the players and staff at the box park, he was typically understated.

He will be considered one of the greatest English managers of all time by the time he retires.

The way I see it, Keegan was the inventor, the blueprint is his, but as an engineer he had flaws. Whereas Howe has refined Keegan's blueprint and is a master engineer.

There's a clear line between the two imo, Howe's basically like a streetwise Keegan.

I feel like he's a Keegan-Rafa hybrid. Anything is possible, especially with a meticulous game plan.

Plus the general likability of Bobby. You only have to look at how he's spoken about by others outside of Newcastle in the game.

Funny how gut feelings work. I just felt that it was just right when he was hired. I was only basing it off of Bournemouth and fantasies about him being our Steve Kerr, but I just felt that this was our guy.

Truth of the matter is that our gut feelings could have equally been right, since they both were based off of incomplete information. First ten games and it was looking a bit grim. Thankfully he weathered that. And here we are.

He’s Eddie Fucking Howe

Have to agree, he’s the greatest in my lifetime. I love Keegan more than anyone else in football but Howe’s a better manager and has achieved more

Totally this.

@Alan Pardew need your opinion on young Eddie's achievements King?

Great manager Young Eddie - He come in and saved you lot from relegation and never looked back really.
He might get 5th this season. I also got 5th. Difference is he has players like Isak, Tonali and Toni Guimaraes available to him while The King had to make do with cloggers who ended up in the Championship and even League One later in their careers.

Probably why I won LMA manager of the year while Young Eddie likely won’t.

Both of us great managers.

Bottle of red for me later tonight - that 8 year contract served me well.

See ya later lads.

These guys at skysports doesn't understand the game at all.. Aye, we're in the relegation zone, but if we just spend an insane amount on a manager who has only been at top clubs, we will start climbing the table immidiately. Because they have so much experience in fighting relegation and managing a squad full of bottom table quality, they really want to come to fight relegation instead of the biggest trophies, and we have unlimited money to spend without any regulations in place. That's just how it all works.

Thank you Unai Emery.. I rate him highly, but the universe smiled upon us with this one.

Aye great manager but I doubt Villa fans would even contemplate swapping him for Howe. Emery saying no to us was a massive win/win.
