You forgot fickle...

Hardly..we just want some signs of a consistent (good) turnaround and there's little evidence this season but it was excused last season due to injuries.

If we take Newcastle blinkers off, few outside can understand why he hasn't already been sacked and why we weren't  vocally calling for his sack at the end of last season

I think regardless of whether anyone thinks Howe is the man or not long term, he will probably finish out the season.

Barring any suprise sales, we won't do anything major in January. Howe will either sink or swim, and a decision will be made at the end of the season.

With the the option to bring in a new man, sell some of our purples and start over.

The performance midweek, though immeasurably better than the rubbish either side, was the definition of a midtable side at home on a Wednesday eve against very good one. We’ve had enough of being midtable alsorans.

I think the scary think is that I'm not even sure what a midtable side looks like any more. We got outplayed by Brentford today, Howe got outmanaged by Frank. Eddie doesn't look that special in this company, not sure he's any better than the Bournemouth or Fulham manager either.

Mancini would be my pick, btw, if he’d come.

Good shout. Don't watch as much non-NUFC football as I did when I was younger. Like Mancini.

Thought Poch did a lot in a short space of time for Chelsea too (but he's now tied up).

Must be some young Sean McVay types out there in Europe with fresh ideas and an ability to connect with the club [emoji38]

My choice would be that Porto geezer whose name I’m not going to try and spell, Terzic or Allegri.

Do not see the point in getting Potter. Would contemplate a visit to Dignitas if we got Southgate.

I don't want him gone.I want him to stay for years.

But its a results driven job and if the owners deem.tjem.not good enough he will go.

Not sure that last paragraph is right at all? I didn’t hear many fans of other clubs saying he should lose his job. Similar in the media, bar the clickbait, Talksport sort of shite.

Howe will see the season out, and that's for the best. There's still enough points to play for to get into Europe with everyone beating everyone, but that's also part of the problem. We don't look any better than two thirds of the sides in the PL. I thought we were nailed on to finish 7/8th at worst, now I'm thinking 10th might be an achievement.

Maybe because we finished 7th with the worst injury crisis many have ever seen and despite that, played some great stuff and scored loads of goals? Then a travesty of a summer, boardroom upheaval, shocking transfers (or lack of) are all massively contributing factors. Would love to know which managerial wizard could wade through all that and have us top 5 without a hitch like. This season is a mess aye, but Eddie getting it in the neck from all angles is harsh in the extreme. He takes some blame no doubt but we're a bit of an incoherent mess on a few levels.

We finished 11th, 2 points off 10th in 2021-22. Finishing there 3 seasons and £300m later is anything but an achievement.

Absolutely pointless drifting to a midtable finish. If we can salvage something, do it now.

There's definitely been more bad performances than good ones. The league table tells it's own story.

We are not going to get ahead with a 60-year-old Italian manager.

In terms of the availables I think he’s what we need for the here and now. What’s his nationality got to do with it?

Eddie took us to top half after taking over when we were bottom 3. A feat never done before or since.

Then he took us to the CL. All while using a bunch of players the majority of the fans considered championship standard.

Now things have hit a bump its all doom and gloom and sackings.

On Wednesday he was widely praised.

Today people want him gone.

Football fans are fickle by nature.

Who are our competitors? We are closer to West Ham and Crystal Palace than Arsenal/Spurs.

Well I was thinking more of Brentford and Brighton, but we are on the same page.
