Eddie Howe - Nominated for Manager of the Season

I don’t know if tactics were the problem today, we just looked really nervous and kept making tons of mistakes.

I think the whole team was exhausted, we had key players out injured (Hall, big Joe) that forced us into weird formations, and we generally looked like a team limping across the finish line.

Think Howe did an incredible job with the resources available this season, and we just ran out of gas on the last day.

That's the best press conference he's ever given.

He's so honest, it's incredibly refreshing. Also really bullish about the transfer situation.

Good times lie ahead.

I was one of his critics at the start of this season and even last season when we had our rough period, but what a fantastic manager and person he is, getting us into the Champions League and ending the trophy drought in a season where he had effectively no signings is an incredible achievement and he managed to surpass even the achievements of Sir Bobby and Kevin Keegan, really hope him and the club get the right players in and we can have a proper go at next season.

Absolutely brilliant, I feel like he’s got higher levels to go to as well as the squad has. Good times ahead.

What a fucking season. Beyond all expectations - especially given the lack of signings in the summer. A trophy AND a CL finish. Absolutely immense :Jonny2J:

My fucking manager

Hopefully he's just being polite about talking to Wilson. He's been great in the past, but time to move on. No room for sentiment in football anymore.

I feel a bit bad about some of my comments during the game now. You can get caught up in emotions and anxiety, while forgetting how small the player pool is.

Great achievement from the players and manager finishing 5th, and I definitely think Eddie deserves to named Manager of the year. He won't win it though, Slot is nailed on for it even though he's inherited a superb team full of depth.

Did you not see Wilson saying goodbye?

That press conference was class like, just pure honesty, no keeping cards close to his chest. Interesting to hear how even he had concerns about our season fizzling out after the final.

Really hope he’s backed this summer. Couple of early signings and the buzz will be incredible.

Interesting first time he ever said I get on with all the squad and then stopped himself and said well nearly all. Just thought that was a bit peculiar for him as he's never ever given that info publicly, that he may have one or two he doesn't have a relationship with. I thought Dubravka and maybe the Greek keeper. Just not like Howe to say something like that.

his press conference makes it sound like he wants to have a pretty different looking squad next season. Think there’ll be some departures we’re not expecting.

I thought he was talking more about close relationships like he has with Wilson.

In the last month he’s really been laying the groundwork for being backed financially in a way I don’t think he has before, certainly not in a few years. He’s explicitly saying we don’t have PSR problems and we need to sign players. The ball is firmly, and publicly, in “their” court now.

Howe has made himself beyond bulletproof so there’s no excuse for the club and the transfer team to not fully back him.
