A lot of people throughout the season have been perplexed at his relative lack of rotation. Obviously no way of knowing what kind of injury list we'd be looking at if more had been given time, etc .. but I think we're reaping some small bit of what he sowed now.

I know what you mean. Obviously you can't predict injuries or gambling addictions but the summer was not good at all. We seriously lack depth at CB and across the front and we're having a 33 year old Trippier play 3 games a week whilst we have a more than competent deputy for him.

Nothing worse than managers and fans hiding behind injuries as an excuse to explain and excuse bad performances and results. Yes, they're part of the context and reason but they're not the be all and end all. We played poorly tonight and Bournemouth were better, took their chances and deservedly won and I hope and expect to hear Howe come out and say so. We're a PL team with a PL squad and the team he picked tonight didn't do enough and it happens. We rarely lose to bottom half teams but we did tonight - Howe and all of us need to take it on the chin and own it.

Tactically we were really poor, we set up like we were playing Man City away not Bournemouth.

Fitness for one. I don’t get this ‘they are tired’ shite. Thats what they get paid to do.

So you don’t believe athletes should get tired?

We’ve played 9 times since start of October in comparison to Bournemouths six.

We’ve had to play Paris and Dortmund twice.

How do you ensure our players are kept as fresh as Bournemouths despite playing those extra games?

Livramento played the whole 90 mid week I believe.

He has had a big injurynin his young career and is still working his way back to regular football.

Don't fault the manager for being careful with him.

rotation is something he didnt need to do too much previously. never managed in Europe before did he, on top of domestic league?

expect same at Brighton, they jumped into European football from not being there ever probably, and even tho they have lot easier EL games than us in CL, they will feel it badly come Dec and January.

Howe needs to learn rottion is crucial in a schedule like this, was very surprised 1-1.5 month ago when the starter was almost the same every game in PL, in CL.

he would probably start Burn, Botman, Schar, Tripper backline in every single game if he could. will not work long term if we are in Europe too.

its not just the extra 6 group games its lack of time to work on next game, lack of time for relax, more injuries with more games etc. it all adds up. our CL games are brutal, all high tempo top teams with vast experience in CL all can easily reach QF's. not most of the opponents of our PL rivals like Red Star, Young Boys, Copenhagen, Lens, PSV etc. these would be ripped apart by our CL opponents.

on top of that  brutal unlucky Carabao draw.

with his playing style we need a much bigger squad, obviously FFP restricted us while our two main transfers ended up being out quite early.

dont underestimate a new signing coming and hitting it straightaway look at Doku, Maddison, Rice all adding lot of value. For us it was Tonali what a crash it became with his ban, and Barnes got a longer injury before he even could have started to perform.

Exactly..it's also why willock looked off tonight too. He's been out for 5/6 months, it's a lot to just expect the injured players to play 70 mins of intense running if you've done it midweek..

Eddie is doing his best, I'm not too fussed just enjoying the ride. We will be up there one day, give us a few years and we will be smashing it. This is all amazing experience.

Howay man, that’s just nonsense. Joelinton and Willock have had injuries and probably aren’t absolutely match fit, certainly not for multiple games a week at highest intensity. Almiron runs himself into the ground every game and we saw that he can’t sustain that today without an injury. Trippier is clearly absolutely shattered, both physically and mentally. He has played the most minutes while also going away on international duty. Gordon has done the most sprints out of anyone in the league I’m sure. This idea that athletes can be robots is utter shite

Some of those big names also had their worst performances in a while. They might be ’fit’ but they are clearly exhausted right now.

We haven't looked close to winning a game without Bruno, this season or last. Against some dross sides as well.

Yeah, he's our one CM who's actually really technically proficient, consistent and can play under pressure.

If you can't control the centre you struggle.

Gordon     Wilson   Miggy

Barnes         Isak    Murphy

I mean we've got 5 out of our 6 attacking options all injured. I don't think that's an excuse to hide behind. Bournemouth played like they had nothing to fear from us.

Even the Joe's have played more football than we'd have liked I think after their injuries. Everyone is absolutely gagging for a rest, it's amazing we've done well so well so far given what we've had available recently.

I'm pretty certain that privately there was a feeling of "FFS" when we won those two League Cup ties.
