I mean...he has been let down in a way because he couldn't have been more clear about how important he felt it was to do business early and it hasn't happened.  He's pretty reserved usually but that is one point he was hammering home.

Obviously there's still plenty of time but I imagine it is playing on his mind.

He’s probably still going over the last home game loss to Everton and how he will not let that happen again!

Do you think Keith Downie has a clue what’s going on?

Not all the time but think with Ashworth/Mitchell gone i can imagine Howe is having to get more involved than normal.

You get the impression that Eddie would fill in as tea lady if he thought it was going to improve the club or the team. I'm sure he's more than happy and capable to be "at the coal face" supporting with getting key deals done if he needs to be.

He will have wanted players in by now you'd think, but he'll also know the market is slow and tough and having what we need by the time it shuts is what's most important.

Cannot wait for December when folk are calling for his head again

Howe has done his job and more, now its time for others to deliver. They have had a year to prepare. No excuses really.

My worry is that Mitchell's appointment/departure has scuppered this summer somewhat.

The info from our journos was it would not affect our business (believe them if you want [emoji38]). PIF needs to step up..

People think that Howe will view transfers like a normal fan does. He’ll totally understand the difficulties imo, not that he won’t be frustrated but probably more at the market that any efforts being made

That's exactly what he did in his last season at Bournemouth, was doing stuff at the academy.

I think they'll be plenty on here I jobs who know that delegation is an important skill to have.

I get the impression Mitchell came in, maybe made some fair points on the financial elements of our bids without full understanding the footballing impact, claimed he'd put it right and do better, then Eddie blew him out the water with all his players fighting for him and winning a first domestic cup in 70 years and the. All the plans Mitchell had began making back in December for the summer were blown tk bits as Eddie succeeded and the implementation of a new system with new people was ultimately dropped like a stone and a realisation set in that perhaps we just need to back our man.

Because of all the uproar Mitchell has had to go and any plans have been muddled together and any business will likely be done late July - is my prediction.
