Aye they had some friction but that is normal.

Maybe I’m over reacting. But this feels like the worst window ever. Just because of expectations. CL secured, trophy secured - act fast in the window. Let’s go and build a side to compete.  And we are having a mare. The club has been exposed.

Soon as season was done I was thinking we'd strengthen rather quickly, have a full preseason of healthy players and really make a charge this season. As recent as last Monday/Tuesday I was thinking if we pull off Eketike we had a title challenging front 4. Mad how quickly football shifts your mind.

I never expected speed, that’s why I’m not disappointed yet. Apart from Isak obviously. But I did say that Isak leaving renders everything else irrelevant because we would finish on less points no matter who else we sign.

Why wouldn’t you expect speed if that’s what Howe said?

That’s what Howe wanted, I just don’t think it was realistic. Every manager wants their players in as soon as possible, very rarely happens.

Humans tend to work to the amount of time a deadline allows them. Especially when we can’t just outspend everyone to get whoever we want.

Wonder if Isak would be as desperate to move had we pushed the boat out and got 3 or 4 in early doors? Maybe showing a bit of ambition and intention early in the market would have convinced him (and others) that this club is moving in the right direction. 9 weeks since the Everton game and for all the talk of who we've targeted, player lists, PSR, not meeting valuations we've brought in 1 single player. It's pathetic and weak and bigger clubs can see it and now is the summer to pick our bones

I think if PSR doesn't change, he goes in the next year or two. Easily good enough for Arsenal, Chelsea, Man City, where he would have the funds available to go that next step himself.

What's crazy is that with a tiny bit of depth we could have finished second. It was in our hands with just two games to go.

Isak knows we’re a top club, by the way, he saw how we supported the players, all season long. He saw the celebrations for the cup in and out of the ground and in the city. He knows when he’s on fire he can help us beat anyone. He knows his teammates can beat anyone.

what he doesn’t have is an extra 150k or some odd a week and that’s what’s pissing him off.

and yes, a few signings early window would have gone some way.

Just seen Eddie's press conference impression I gained unless it was the camera, he looks  washed out and well pissed off, very down beat not his normal self.

Im not surprised it’s a mess behind the scenes and he’s been forced to pitch in beyond his role. The summer transfer window has also been a disaster so far (some of that possibly down to him too to be fair). I do worry that might opt for a new challenge at some point.

It's 6am England time when he was doing the presser. He recently got off the plane, and held a training session in 32 degree C heat and 70 percent humidity. I'd be in a coma if it were me to be fair. [emoji38]

Not only does he not look washed out or pissed off, he actually looks very well and perfectly calm and composed [emoji38]

Honestly ... this is just ridiculous!

Down beat and rehearsed and measured is the things I took from that. Didn't care about the isak stuff as much as the journos did as I knew he wouldn't give anything away. More concerned with incomings nothing close it seems and prices of players still an issue not sure leaving it late in the window will mean any massive price drop offs.

Love the fella still managed to crack a smile but dont get an optimism after watching it.

The comment about prices going up is a reflection of how we’ve misjudged the market. We were ahead of the market with Livramento, Hall and Tonali. Some said they were overpays but they’re well below market value now. This summer we’ve misjudged the market. &nbsp

There’s still a month left.

Bruno looked pissed off with the isak questions.

Looked like he was gonna chin someone. 😂

Thought he answered the questions well though. He's gotta be annoyed by it all.
