I think at this time he is the best coach we could probably get, his achievements are remarkable and that the team will continue to progress under him. The development of the team and the development of the club to me should be happening as one but i dont think they are and I think there is a clear disconnect. The dream is the manager loses certain powers at the club and a structured setup gains it, but i do not see that ever happening whilst we have the current people in place. Thats all. If we have a strong chairman, an elite DOF and a manager who was only there to manage, i think we would be unstoppable

Guest
Just now, Rod said: Very good comments and thought provoking. He has been utterly incredible, i want to keep reiterating that but the fact on our return to the CL he was able to demand we do not attend the first press in Italy conferences nor train at the San Siro was crazy, that was the moment to announce the club was back in the big time to the rest of Europe, but we were at home. That was as much on the club and the people within it who have the job to help us reach peak potential. Its only one example but its a few things like that where others have to step up and grow the club internally so we can match what is going on out on the pitch. OoOGazOoO
What a man! What a great guy. Those words he said in relation to his mum are absolutely magical. What a brilliant ethic to work with.
huss9
She was a single parent who raised Howe and his siblings while holding down several jobs, and encouraged Howe to follow his dreams. "She's still with me every day," he said. "It's a difficult one because you're not consciously thinking about her on a minute-by-minute basis or even a day-by-day basis to a degree. "But I know that her spirit, her courage and her determination is with me in so many different ways in how I act and behave. I know she's willing me on from somewhere, and very proud. I just hope to do her justice in the way that I work. "I feel I have a duty to protect her legacy by how I conduct myself in what I do. I'm very driven for more success. I'm very determined to do my best, which is all I can do, and hopefully that will be good enough."
Memphis
It's a bit concerning how much I love the man. For our club, I could not rate him higher. He understands the tactical side of football and his training continues to be meticulous and enriching. But it's the things beyond that which I find most important. He gets the club. Gets it in his bones. He gets the people and the area. He respects what this club has always been and has a burning ambition for it to fulfill its massive potential. He represents the club brilliantly. He treats his players as grown men and helps them to understand more than just football in their lives. Yet again, he has taken a difficult situation and managed to handle it perfectly - he has made it crystal clear how disappointed he is in Isak and how much it has added difficulty to our season preparations. But he has also not allowed it to serve as an excuse for us, nor has he given in to the temptation of venting his obvious anger publicly, so there's always a way back for Isak should he change his mind. There's truly not another manager in world football I would exchange him for.

alexf
Does make me feel that players will come and go, but if we were to lose Eddie, it would be 10x worse than any player. As long as he's here and not completely handcuffed, we will always have a decent side. He's a generational manager and far more important to the club than Isak or any other player ever will be. Nobody
Best manager in the league and the best one we've ever had. Whats his contract situation like btw? Benwell Lad
"It's brilliant that they're fully immersed in the Newcastle way of life, the language, the way of thinking. It's such a great area with such positive, driven and motivated people. I'm very proud that they are going to be adopted Geordies." Up there with Sir Bobby's classics. Thankfully, the feeling is mutual - my ‘favourite’ quote of his when we were protesting against Ashley is when he described us as ‘whining, whingeing, self-pitying, self-indulgent and deluded’. Fuck that cunt.
