He's one of the cleverest blokes I've seen on tv, don't think our politicians could hold a candle to him.

He basically just reads a management / leadership type book every week and then tries to cram it into an article by circling it back into sport in a crammed in way.

 

He knows almost nothing about football and is one of the most tedious columnists out there. His political pieces are similarly dull. Yes, a ping pong player really is allowed to talk about the state of the world in a grown up newspaper. 

 

On sport, he usually talks about tennis or some other other sport whilst mentioning his wiff waff trophies. In that Howe article, I got furious with his lack of prior research. I've edited this post, because who cares about the journalist.

 

Point is, Howe has us set up pretty perfectly today and it should be about him instead.

I disagree - I reckon someone up top has said “you distance yourself from the business side so Isak may never blame of fall out with you, we’ll be that side of it”

I think more than anything it just speaks to him knowing that completely burning bridges is never a good idea with anything in life.

 

Something Isak himself has yet to learn clearly.

It's also the reason why the Isak situation is so terribly frustating and disappointing, honestly. Eddie isn't perfect, but it's undeniable what he has done for the players, especially young players representing too much of a risk for other clubs to take a punt on. Isak was the perfect example of this. And now here we are.

 

It's very literally a betrayal, in every sense of the word. Even in the context of the modern game where there are broken contracts and "player power" and all that. Eddie truly doesn't deserve this extreme heel turn.

He’ll see it as a huge challenge, contain his emotional reaction, his personal feelings and channel it into some kind of positive for him and the team. He’s immense and has dealt with lots over the course of his management journey. We could not be in better hands with Eddie. He’ll steer our ship through these troubled waters.
