Difficult with 11 men behind the ball. I agree though. Personally I think we should have "bombarded" their box with crosses (Bruce tactics). The last 30 minutes we actually looked like Man City of old by passing for passing sake. Had loads of the ball but no idea where the actual danger zone was. So disappointed.

It's even more difficult when the team is composed of lads who have a skill set more akin to a school sports day than a football match.

If it's a carbon copy, maybe we should be learning and starting better? No Europe helped us last season in the league, don't have that this time. So it's fanciful to think we'll hook things up in league and get 65 points. It's all on the cups which I don't doubt about, because he's shown on one off games, he can get things spot on.

We will finish top 7/8 and have a cup run which is as good as we can do really with PSR restrictions.

I am going to be knowingly a little bit harsh on Eddie this evening, despite my love for the man and the manager. I felt there was a bit of a rabbit off today. When one or two players aren't up for it or motivated, you can put that down to the individuals but when it's the whole team the manager must ultimately take the responsibility.

 

To say what...is ultimately the hard part. Tactically - did we do much wrong? Not for me. Was it the personnel - I don't personally feel so, we should have been capable of winning that game with that side. However, I just feel the collective attitude and application weren't there and perhaps some complacency set in and that is for Howe to ensure that, that is right.

 

It is knowingly harsh, as it doesn't escape me that we've played 3 tougher ties this last week at home and won all 3. That he has rotated well to keep players fresh and performing across said three games, but that freshness fell under question today. If not physically then perhaps mentally (or both).

 

That being said, I have absolute faith in the fact we will have taken this result today as a reality check and Eddie will have them right back at it come Wednesday.

 

Let's face it, today we would have probably all liked to have seen us get ahead (as we did) then simply control the game and conserve energy - we never took control and that element is in most part down to the players. Eddie cannot advocate for individual mistakes and too many were simply caught napping.

 

I think everyone needs to look at themselves after today and ensure there are no more repeats across this next week, as we play two fairly pivotal games in the season ahead, in terms of morale and getting a win against both would ultimately ease some of the pressure heading into the next mammoth set of fixtures.

Some can get like RAWK appears to be when it comes to criticism of the manager’s decisions. We’ve won 4 away league games in 2025, none this season, all of which were against poor opposition who finished in the bottom 5. It’s not good enough.

Giving our only wins are at home to sides below us, there's more chance of us not winning our next three then there is of getting just one win. Beat Spurs at home as they'll be in free fall, Burnley at Home because they're poor and below us, then back to losing after that

What I don't understand is, when Murphy scored why didn't we take to 

West Ham. A team in their situation is 

the perfect example of stepping on their necks but we just stood around and kept passing it to each.

IMHO, Eddie leaves when HE decides. It's as simple as that. The man has given me my best memory as a supporter. Obviously the cup, but also the journey has been fantastic.

 

He made a mess today. But it's the first massive mess I can remember since he arrived. I know there's been other things, but this was a shocking day. Absolutely baffling. 

I also believe the best man to arrest this situation is him.

The owners obviously won't stick with him until the end of days, because they need improvements for their investments. But for now...there's no chance they'll do away with him, because that would be stupid. He's the man to fix it, and by the end of the season we'll likely be "fucking hell, he did it again!".
