Bimpy474
And the Chelsea result to make the other semi was in the bag until Tripp's brainfart in injury time.
Dokko
Much better 2nd half. Semis are going to be tough no matter who we draw. Another final is probably more of an achievement than the other 2 considering what's gone on. I want to see more of Alex Murphy, though feel it'll be tough to get him involved at the weekend without exposing him.

TaylorJ_01
I think he has a slight problem incoming that our best front three, individually, might be Barnes, Wissa and Murphy. However, Murphy must have banged in about 40 crosses tonight. It feels like you need to play Woltemade and Murphy together, otherwise it negates their respective strengths. It's all the more baffling as to why he lined up with Gordon/Woltemade/Elanga against Sunderland. Literally the worst combo of all options

Literally the worst combo of all options How many of Murphy’s assists to Isak were crosses that he headed in? Mostly low crosses and cut backs I thought, along with the odd through ball. I think Wissa will link far better with Murphy than Woltemade.

Yep, Barnes is for Wolt, Murphy for Wissa. 4 up top is the only way, let Tonali/Thiaw/Schar deal with defending and try and score 9 goals a game instead. AyeDubbleYoo
Thought tonight was a noticeable improvement in attitude and approach to the game, players were working for the manager and trying to prove they can impact games. The midfield worked hard and Willock and Ramsey were good. Some things still didn't click fluidly but it was a good response overall. Does Alex Murphy not have a thread? Was really hoping to see him tonight, he's a very respectable player and we've seen what Miley is doing.

Stottie
Eddie's record in this competition basically contradicts the famous Shearer utterance that Toon fans would rather win a Cup (the FA Cup?) than the League. Eddie is nearly unstoppable in this Cup but it does not make him Teflon with fans when it comes poor performances in the league. Does another Carabao semi compensate for what happened on Sunday? I suppose it depends on how many Mackems you have at work. (usual PSR grumble about operating with one hand tied behind his back)
Thumbheed
Eddie has some challenge getting the team to adapt to 2 completely different type of strikers and I don't know how he does it without having them both on at the same time.
