Pleased he subbed Gordon and kept Barnes. Was gonna do it sooner but the Schar injury caused a change in his thinking. But he went brave and didn't go for the Alex Murphy option.

We could have lost the game obviously  but our downfall was mainly individual errors tonight.

Just don't get why any fan would doubt him. He always bounces back. It's a weird thing in football that people always want something new and shiny rather than keeping faith with the guy who literally gave us a trophy less than 12 months ago and has us still competitive on all fronts this season.

Sure it's not perfect, we have a few injury issues, we're still adapting to losing Isak and trying to balance a busy schedule. But cut the guy some freaking slack. He has never let us down so far.

This is an almost English relationship with joy.

Howe said after the game btw:

-wasnt our best performance

-disappointed by lack of control he would have wanted

-disappointed by the defending

so he said pretty much the exact same things that I have. And I am a miserable bastard.

and again I state: I dont want Howe to leave.

Aye you’ll really show everyone then.

Show to who? This is Forum about football. I like having conversations about that. If people cannot see other than result, after decades of watching football, then there is not much to talk right? Every loss: Howe out. Win and get him a statue.

EVERYBODY KNOWS THESE THINGS BUT DOESN'T VERBALISE THEM.

@KingArthur You make valid points but tonight isn't the time. Eddie said himself that he didn't want to talk about any negatives (which there were plenty of) with the players after a night like this, just enjoy the result.

If you can't see the difference between a post-match presser with journalists and a fan forum I think you might be missing it.

Eddie said in that presser himself that despite those things you've mentioned, he expressed to the players to soak it in and enjoy it. So what shall we do as fans?

Obviously up to you, but you come across a bit dour and a killjoy when everyone is feeling grand and you pop into mention negatives. There's a time and place.

Phenomenal press conference that, as usual he represents the club so well. The Keegan stuff was lovely :)

Very interesting re Miley, Howe saying he's trained at CB more than at FB and they see that as somewhere he could play.

I thought there is some sort if ignore button here. Feel free to ignore me [emoji38]

I think you make valid points regularly along with a few of the other stats-minded lads and lasses, and I enjoy reading them (even if my mind doesn’t bend that way).  But I think your timing is off in this instance - just absorb and enjoy the fucking insanity we just watch and conduct a post-mortem later.  None of which means you’re right or wrong - but no-one is going to be on that wavelength 👍

Brilliant post. Never ever doubt our manager.

But on the other hand, I might pop up with positives when we play well and dont win. People who only look at the result will not.

Of course I am happy as a fan. But surely that doesnt mean you cannot say anything negative? All the positive was already here.

but its 2:40 am here. I am off to bed and we fight another day lads [emoji38]

Oh come on. We have been talking about negatives for many weeks already. Surely after a 3 win streak we should be talking about the positives now?

Didn't watch the game.

I take it we lost again?

Great game between two sides going for it and not being apprehensive. Lots of talking points and Newcastle maybe slightly fortunate winners.

Judging by the subs at half time I'm hoping he's realised that midfield isn't right with Tonali at the base of it.

Yet again we saw a significant improvement once Bruno moved into that position.

Keeps handing the initiative to teams at the start with that starting midfield lineup. Really hope tonight was a turning point.

Everytime we start as we did today, and have most of the season, you can expect a poor start where the team cannot get a hold of the game, and we're under pressure.
