Weren't we top of the form table in the PL a few weeks back?

I mean actual performances though, a period you could look back on this season and think we could get back to that.

I'd like him to be quizzed on his train of thought lumping all these games on a clearly deteriorating Keiran Trippier, it is an alarmingly negligent situation

Said it in the Tripper thread but what's Howe supposed to be playing? He's bang out of options. The #1 problem we have is we are struggling in attack and all of our non-Trippier options totally kneecap our attack further.

Knew we were in for a bleak and depressing month or two when those fixtures came up and we went 120+mins against Bournemouth in the cup.

Once the injuries started and the fatigue set in we were in for a tough time.

Still it's getting worse than I thought it would be. Players are lacking confidence and look absolutely shagged.

It's only going to get worse however with the run of away games we have again and no rest in sight.

Can't believe we can't find a better solution to having Trippier play every game however. Costing us so many goals. I'd rather put Sandro at RB and play someone else in midfield if necessary.

I don't think we were. We struggled post Isak but I think performance wise we were generally alright without being amazing and things just generally weren't falling for us. It certainly wasn't "shit".

And December/January was actually a good period for us when results started to match the performances a bit. Obviously last few weeks it has just become too much.

We were poor against 10 man Villa, newly promoted Leeds, Wolves (they should have beat us), Bournemouth and Arsenal in August/September.

As I said then let’s see after the next 5, already played three of those. Three loses.

That's not what he asked. The question was have we played well

I'm starting to think he hasn't got a clue anymore and doesn't know how to fix it, every change smacks of desperation and whatever style he's playing is completely shit. How he thinks Trippier can play at this level anymore is beyond me and he bought trash in the summer. His existing players have all gone backwards except Hall and Miley.

He needs to have a rethink and change the style as the way we play can't win games and it's only getting worse. Him and Tindall on sideline looking confused at what to do when we give yet another lead away when he sets us up in that way is just fucking dreadful. Tru making the team hard to beat. Close the lines and sit a bit as the space we give teams is ridiculous

We've been shite most of the season. I don't know how anyone could argue otherwise.

You don't get top of the form table by playing badly.

I think people are underestimating how good the quality of the league is this year.

Apart from Arsenal I don't think there's one team that can be consistently happy with their performances being to the standard that seems to be expected on here.

This is why I advocated playing the reserves mid week btw. I know it's unpalatable to some but we needed the break.

Totally agreed. I said the same earlier in the season for cups. We can't give full throttle to all competitions, we simply don't have the roster for it.

This.

1000 times this.

I find these reactions absolutely baffling.

Think it's fairly obvious our squad just can't cope with this amount of fixtures.

Wasn't that what the summer window was for? If we can't cope with all the fixtures than at what is the point of what we are actually doing?

We really have no part in our play that looks to be working. We dont defend well, we dont create chances, we cant keep the ball…

We have no patterns to our play apart from going wide... a lot.

That's on the club. All three alternatives were injured in January and we chose not to do anything.

There's plenty that Howe is culpable for IMO but having to select Trippier is not one of them.

I’d disagree, I don’t think we have played well for a full 90 minutes this season.

The team that finished today was much stronger than the one that started imo

PSG and Liverpool first half aside we've not really looked like we've had a game plan for ages.

When we were at our best it seemed like we had subtle differences each game catered to give us the edge over whoever the opposition was. This season we seem to just have the same generic gameplan each match and it's resulted in stale disjointed performances for the most part. I'm not even sure what our identity is supposed to be anymore.

How many impressive performances have we had in the league this season? A wee handful?

Over the full 90 ? I’d say none, actually maybe Everton away ?

Surely if Howe felt strongly about getting cover in they'd have done so?

He's said him and Wilson are on the same page when the window was open.
