I don't want Howe out, but if you want a list of names who could have a go at doing a job and are realistic in the summer:

Iraola

Glasner

Carrick (if he doesn't get the Man U job longterm)

Nuno?

Mourinho?

Southgate?

Alonso?

I'm not convinced any of them would do a better job than Howe, but they also probably wouldn't completely fuck it up? I think Alonso might not be interested and Nuno would be a risk, but they are all realistic and not crap. There's bound to be more big names on the continent who I just don't know about as well, Le Bris has done well at Sunderland and he was hardly a household name.

Point is there are options, are they better options? Probably not.

I think we need someone who can play more progressive football and not rely on athleticism. I dont think that works when playing every 3 days unless you have a massive squad or have special inhalers.

I think this undersells how difficult it is to find players that have the combination of physicality required to play in the PL and that next level of technique.

In a world without PSR or one where we have more money and more cachet our squad might include Ekitike, Pedro, Olise, Szoboszlai, and Guehi among others. Maybe it still wouldn't be the brand of football some want, but I'm not sure how anyone could be certain Eddie couldn't take us up another level with that kind of talent.

Only have to look at Spurs to see what happens when you start playing Russian roulette with managers when there isn't an obviously good fit out there

IF he was to leave, I’d do whatever we could to keep Andy.

And then I’d approach Sebastian Hoeneß and see if he wants to work with Big Nick again.

Exactly. They change identity every season and it's only gotten worse since Kane and Son left.

Fantastic win and finally a good performance, but very important not to get too high. They are absolutely dire and one of the worst teams we've played in a while.

Great scenes at the end though. Felt proper chuffed for him.

Yep. We have been decent against weaker sides at times this season, but the more resolute ones have given us problems.

That said, we played some nice football yesterday and Ramsey and Willock gave us mobility and the desire to crash into the box from midfield. More please!

Howe needs a good recruitment team, hopefully Wilson and Suds prove to be that.

I’d like to see some evolution in our style and a bit more flair in the team, I do find us a hard watch at times, but would only take a couple of good signings to change that.

Ive never committed to a change of manager as unsure who we’d end up, but it’ll always be a results business and still maintain he needs a strong finish to show he’s the right man for next phase of the project.

Of course PIF need to step us as well and convince us their ambitions are realistic.

Yeah, maybe we just double down and give Eddie a team of athletes. Sadly emulating Arteta might be the best way

Brilliant. I'm now fully Howe Out.

Doubling down on a manager change being the solution to this season’s league points and position (thus far) is one hell of a leap Wyn.

he called for Eddie's replacement right after we won the Cup.  But he's a true supporter because he's been there since the 60's.

Yeah I'm not Howe out either, but someone was asking repeatedly for a list of options, those are some of them. It's virtually impossible to say if they'd be a success or not though right, but as they aren't knackers I'd hope they wouldn't burn the place down.

Anyone who mentions Mourinho as a potential replacement has completley lost the plot.

I will reiterate this. Look at Spurs. We are in the Poch period. There is a very good chance that we will end up in the Ange-Frank period if Howe walks.

I should have worded that better.

TBH, I just replied for the lame (but tempting…) Wyn ‘the leap’Davies joke.
