Also, people are making the same mistake with Spurs that they did with Man United a year ago. They don't have the same brand and history Man United have, but it wouldn't take much for them to be competing back in the top 6 regularly. And it can happen quickly.

For those that want a new manager, how would you feel about new Tottenham manager Eddie Howe? How do you think he would do?

 Spurs have a self-imposed ceiling on wages which they're rumoured to be revising. That will drastically affect the profile of player they can attract. I'm fairly concerned about them if they stay up tbh, they won't be a joke forever.

If Howe went there he'd do superbly and it would be fucking sickening, obviously. We need to do all we can to support him and ride this out.

It does give hope that a quality GK & CF in the summer might give us a second push, like. As a starting point that's been the difference between us being bottom half this season and challenging top 6.

Not that simple mind. RW, RB, CM now need a refresh too.

Exactly this - our ultimate owners have almost infinite wealth yet I have seen no concrete evidence of legal/illegal frameworks, sports lawyers, multiple sponsorships, or anything which would move the PSR needle to a significant degree. So we are plodding along growing "organically" in a rigged league where the big boys make the rules. I would just like to see us rock the boat now and then rather than meekly accept our lot.

You don't think an extra 5 goals one way and 5 less the other way wouldn't have put us in contention? That's even with the other flaws.

I’m thinking about next season.  The old guard another year older. Players will leave.

I would personally rather not have an asterisk next to anything we win in the future.

I have an Irish friend so I know what this means, however it does have a dodgy background

What a fucking win in the most adverse circumstances. That's the heavens aligning for the Liverpool one where we deserved to get something from it.

Against all the shit from the referee he set us up perfectly second half, we defended brilliantly and Man U never looked like scoring other than a long range blastie.

Big call dropping Pope too and his man Ramsdale came up with two quality saves second half to keep us level.

As shit as Everton was, that was the complete opposite in nearly every way. Fantastic, well done to him and the players for a fucking mega win.

Even if you doubt his choices, the fact the players still give absolutely everything for him really does count for something.

Absolutely. I'll admit it's time to move on if he can't get a reaction from the players. We seem nowhere near that point.

Great fun that.

I am enjoying this season tbh.  Or at least enjoying the highs. I don’t think it’s the most talented squad.  But they can show up in big ways.

I fancied us to beat Man U tonight. I fancy us to beat City too. Maybe even at home to Barca too.

Barca will beat us over 2 legs. I hope we’re still in the FA Cup.  Fancy us to finish the season strongly.  Not given up on 8th and more importantly the FA Cup.

Howe out etc etc etc 🤦

Nice win, but it doesn’t magically wipe away 12th place, more defeats than wins, and months of declining performances. One good result doesn’t suddenly make the bigger problems disappear.

Yeah, always been the tipping point for me. I've thought I might have seen it once or twice in his time here but it's never been more sustained than a really dodgy half. They still run through brick walls for him and as long as that's the case, we'll always be at least competitive.
