Always said he'd built up enough credit for an iffy season but this isn't on .12th in the league man. I'm pig sick of seeing Burn, Murphy, Willock there. Should have been phased out long before now yet we still see them for 30-90 minutes every week. If he's ruthless and starts binning these and we go again in the summer then I'm happy to see how he goes.

I know recruitment has been shite this summer but again, I think a bad window is allowed but I'll let that by as we have a new recruitment team in place since then, but seeing the same players who are clearly no longer up to it keep playing (even knocking £20m for Willock in January was it?) is unforgivable to me.

You could see from the press conference, and the way he reacted to some of the questions, that he was super nervous coming into the game - reflected in the second half performance (and a chunk of the first really)

Defenders saying he's not the problem I'd say he is.

We aren't adapting we still play open reckless football the team has regressed.

We have two strikers bought for massive money that cannot get a look in in howes system, he can't find a way to integrate them I wouldn't trust him with a tenner never mind the transfer kitty.

I'm sure you have no qualms with Bruno, Hall, Livramento, Isak, Tonali, Botman though right?

And would have had no issues with Ekiteke, Pedro, Szoboslai, Rafinha, Mbeumo..  being on the team.

Absolutely embarrassing that.

Still think Howe is the man and should oversee a rebuild in the summer with the appropriate backroom team in support. The success of the season nor his tenure shouldn't be decided based on 2 games, and what he's achieved to date should give him leeway.

This'll be my last post of the season, I've enjoyed the most successful period of my lifetime a little less because of how much I proper hate a growing number of my fellow fans, it's not healthy. Can't blame anyone for being rightfully furious after that, I am, but there'll be more than a few secretly delighted which is absolutely fucked.

But this isn’t based on two games, this has happened time after time.

There’s a reason we have given away the most points from winning positions.

Can’t adapt to changes of tactics, especially after half time.

I genuinely don’t want him replaced in an ideal world. Having said that, I have massive massive doubts about him changing his philosophy and what kind of players he prefers along with our mostly transitional oriented football. How are we going to evolve and improve without going in a slightly different direction? Or a more balanced way of playing at least.

He can’t be trusted with money, he’s wasted an absolute bucket load on shite

I expect they would want him based on previous years tbf. I’d rather he stayed but he’s had a really poor season and probably needs to rethink his methods.

Yes and that starts with coaching.

Not a chance. We are plucky little Newcastle who should be grateful for whatever we get.

‘No-one could do better’ tweets no doubt being lined up by Edwards and Hope.  We look like late-stage Bournemouth under Howe at this point.

It’s not two games tho is it? We’ve lost more games than we’ve won in the league this season

The summer window well and truly fucked us. It looked bad at the time, it looks worse each week. Not sure where we go from here, zero faith in anyone running the club to do anything right come the summer tbh.

I’m feeling really low after this week. We’ve got so much to change in the squad this summer and I just don’t see how we do it. Maybe we bite the bullet and change the manager, which of course is a big risk, and start the rebuilding job that way

After waiting nearly the entire season for things to click he reverted back to the high press with Gordon up front and we had a mini revival.

This style of play has run its course, he doesn’t have the players to change it.

We look a mess.

I think a lot of the problems are the players we have just don't have much character, and I said this before the game.

But his in game management is usually rank.

How many points is that dropped from a winning position? Must be close to the record now.

Seeing 22 points mentioned.

Luke Edwards will be along any moment to tell us that nobody in world football will be able to do better for Newcastle than Eddie Howe.

I know who I believe.

I've been very dissapointed all season in Howe, but have been broadly in the 'unhappy but willing to give him more time' camp, because I didn't see who we could bring in who would do any better. It's starting to get to a point where I'd be struggling to think of someone who would do worse... 12th in the league currently. I reckon Bruce could manage this squad to a 12th place finish.

Seems there are some fans who are more of a fan of Eddie Howe than Newcastle. Unfortunately, all his credit in the bank has gone.

It's heartbreaking tbf. Guy went from the man who got us a trophy in March 2025, to getting doubled in the derby in March 2026. Stages of grief and all that
