Absolute worst case scenario. But if Eddie has had a change of heart (or was told to have one) and he is serious about getting away from the 4-3-3 (at least for the most part) and he approaches the summer signings accordingly, I think we'll be more than OK. My biggest fear is letting Eddie recruit and sign a bunch of fast, but maybe not-as-skilled players to suit a 4-3-3, only then to have him leave after ten games. I'm still giddy over how well Bruno, Wolte, Ramsey and Barnes meshed together. Tonali too. Best I recall our midfield looking in a long, long time. "I can promise that he won't be 80 metres away from goal with us." Understand this was West Ham, but then again we lost 3-1 to them in November. Night and day performances. Same here, although like I said yesterday, I'm still not sure how much of that was just down to West Ham being shit. But still the football was very easy on the eye, and it still worries me that Howe took so long to move away from Plan A when it clearly didn't suit the players we had on our books. Think we lost the next game to Liverpool but looked much better. Isak scored iirc. Then we went on a big run.
janpawel
I've leaned towards Howe in these past few months But can't help but be so impressed with Iraola. I know he's not managing a team in Europe. But think he could be unattainable to a club like us after his next move

Palace are apparently in with a good chance.

Optimistic Nut
No excuses next season. As a minimum he should be getting us back above the likes of Bournemouth & Brighton who will be managing Europe with far less resources than we did. Top 6 should be the minimum requirement. Dr.Spaceman
We should be aiming for 60 points next season, anything less will be difficult to explain.

If you think about how meticulous Howe is then it's not much of a surprise, there's no way he tries something new until he has seen it enough in training, knows it will work and the players are drilled with how the system works. That's why he sticks with "Plan A" because he is anal to a fault when it comes to preparedness.

After his next job he thinks he could very well be out of our reach. Obviously depends on where we stand entirely then. Hypothetically and all that. I guess managing Palace through a Europa League campaign (if they win next Wednesday) could be a good litmus test of his ability to manage players energy levels. Even then it feels like a massive step up in terms of pressure and harmonising a squad at say Barca or Real. He's been class at Bournemouth though, no doubt. Inerested to see how his career progress. Dokko
I do wonder if it's his last game for us this weekend and we just don't know it. Be a shame he didn't get a send off, but maybe he wanted it that way. It honestly wouldn't surprise me one bit, but I've felt for most of the season this was his last, regardless of the noise coming from him or the club. Surely there would've been a leak by now if he'd agreed to step down at seasons end.

I mean if that’s really true and we have no news nor rumours approaching the coaches / managers we mentioned in the other thread, then it’s fucking worrying and imo extremely incompetent from PIF side. At the very least we should have approach Iraola
SteV
With Pep and Silva leaving he’ll become the second longest serving current PL manager behind Lego head, and 7th (I think) longest serving manager in the top 4 divisions.
