I've said ever since public opinion started to shift post-Barca/Derby that I was going to see how the final 7 games played out.

Agree, was thinking the same. It has been no progress, and this last game we top it with a nothing performance. Apart from Osula there has been very few positives.

Still Eddie in, but it’s been poor from him.
we’ve been very predictable from a tactical perspective and he hasn’t really fixed the issues.

I’ll judge him by the players we bring in the summer and the start of next season.

Why not judge him for the players he brought in this season?

When he talks about limited selection options today... wasn't it the exact same pool of available players as West Ham, minus Tonali who dropped out last minute?

Iraola available is a no brainer and a kickstart that we seem to need right now. Feels like the perfect time to build fresh.

It would be perfect.

Eddie has been so bad that I'm willing to overlook Iraola's yellow teeth now.

Just get it done.

I wonder if there's a chance he could walk in the next week or two? Might decide he's had enough and has taken us as far as he can.

Not a fucking chance. He’s not walking until someone like Liverpool come in for him.

He’s brought his mates on the back room staff and his nephew on the transfer committee, he’s not giving it up.

The patience will be short with him next season. A bad spell early on and it may get toxic.

As it should be. He should be embarrassed with his contribution this season.

You are aware of what the score was, yes? It did not flatter them, in the end we were embarrassed with a horrid aggregate score reflecting the gulf between the sides. Nothing was more apparent than the small tactical tweak Flick made in the second game, with Howe clueless in response. It's really difficult to understand what I've written that is 'nonsense' unless you're one of the Howe-first, Newcastle United-second crowd? I'll be honest, I really struggle with fans who put sentiment to Howe above the needs of the club and similarly would question anyone's judgement in not seeing that we're at the end of the road.

I can't ask the owners, weirdly enough they're not looking for my opinion - which is all this is, by the way, just my opinion. I think what I struggle with is when these 'real fans' get behind the 'team the tries' ideology, they seem weirdly forgiving about two season of failure out of five, don't put any emphasis on the £250m spent and seem to forget that 'team the tries' meant constantly aspiring for more. 12th, insipid football, a crap squad and Wissa as a number 9 is all very Mike Ashley, I'm afraid.

Your opinion sucks, in my opinion. Who would you have as the Newcastle manager? In your opinion, obviously.

Newcastle spending 500m and getting 12th and Sunderland newly promoted and getting Europa league, deserves the sack for any staff involved. Get them out of the club.

Unless it's your first season watching football I'm not sure why you'd put any stock into a final game of the season away from home with nowt to play for.

It was shite but it was the standard everyone on the beach performance you see from loads of clubs every season in a similar position. It sounds like there was plenty today in the other games as well.

Complete nonsense. We were NOT humbled by Barcelona. The score totally flattered them. We more than matched them for about 160 minutes ( over two legs).

Asking the owners to sack Eddie shows what a complete prick you are. Sorry I'm back, but this type of nonsense infuriates me. Even though your spelling and grammar were excellent, you are a fan we do not want!

Welcome back Rod.
