This type of prognosticating shit without a decent data set is not particularly enlightened. I get that, and there is undoubtedly time but football is brutal, expectations are high, and have you seen any signs over the past 4 years that he’s prepared to do things differently? He even said the other day, plan Bs are dangerous because they distract you from executing plan A properly, or something to that effect. Thats a really troubling statement! Sir Joel Inton
Just now, 54 said: 1. It’s not a criticism that he doesn’t change his system in game, it’s that he seems to make us perform worse when he does. Today a great example of that. 2. His substitutions are either pre-game scripted or after the horse has bolted. It’s extremely rare he has a great impact on a game with his subs. 3. It’s not a criticism of his rotation, we absolutely must rotate, but I think we rotate the wrong players for the wrong games (see Wolves as an example) 4. The big gap between our midfield and defence won us a cup? What? 5. Are you saying Howe was responsible for every signing? 6. Burn at LB but also CB during periods too, Tonali, Big Joe at times, Pope. 7. Give over man That’s genuinely one of the worst excuses I think I’ve ever heard. You’d be crying with laughter if someone like Pep or Klopp used that.

1892er
For the first half an hour we played them off the park. Then it was Newcastle doing Newcastle things. I honestly don't know what the answer is. One game we're good, next game we are shite. It's infuriating how we always seem drown out in the oppositions box yet 3 passes around ours and there's acres of space. Ben
Fuck me, wind your necks in, if Howe had the resources, referees, training facilities, unlimited budget and wage bill of Slot we'd have won that at a canter tonight.

Said it before and I'll keep saying it, this time last year Villa were in a worse position than us in the CL season, and all the people on here who think the sun shines out his arse would have been Emery Out and been banging on about Eddie Howe. Villa were on 37 points this time last season and finished on 66 points. Can you comfortably say that we are going to do that this season? We would have to be on title winning form from now until the end of the season 2.4 points per game.
Ronaldo
1 minute ago, Pilko said: I think there's valid criticism of Howe that some people on here won't hear, and some people (myself included sometimes) massively overplay. I just don't think losing at Anfield where we were decent for some of it is the time to pile into him, it happens every year regardless of circumstance. Yeah, agreed. Of course the issue is whenever we play these teams away we lose. Our record is a disgrace against top 5/6 teams away and has been for some time. Mattoon
Looking forward to waking up to 27 pages of Eddie bashing! Despise Liverpool with a passion, everything they stand for, all their victimhood, their sly players and horrific manager, their toucher supporters who think they're better than everyone else and have a divine right to win everything. There's only so much we can hold on to that cup victory too, need to be winning more against them, 30 attempts is humiliating and watching them mock us while they do it is infuriating. But let's not chase out our best manager in a generation for one iffy season and an emotional outburst after a loss to these rat freaks.

This is the most irritating facet. It doesn't matter. I think a lot of these 55 or so cannot for the life of them see that they want immediate gratification. It's the clowns yelling for a sub after 22 minutes for over a quarter of the games. It's every match thread feeling like we're losing 16-0 to Cambridge afte rthe first 4 minutes. I don't care that some people want him out. I disagree, but that's fine. The ones who are vocal about it seem to have either insane replacements, out of our reach replacements, or nothing. Reminds me of Umberto Eco's 'action just for the sake of action'. Sports fans are notoriously fickle, but I'm sure we've all been poorly affected by access to infromation at our fingertips. We're losing basic medium-long term patience, and suffer from severe myopia. And so we ar ein a feedback loop every damn season where a vocal minority continually use terms like 'appalling', and 'dereliction of duty' to describe a damn game. I used to really enjoy the football section of this forum, but there is now just too much feces piled up. And instead of escape, it's like a sporting version of everything around us. Kid Icarus
Some very obvious 'mask slip' stuff going on with agendas in here imo. Absolutely none of tonight is on Howe like. The setup was working and individual errors killed us in a match we never win. Subs? Maybe, but then they came on and we were worse.

I love Eddie, but it’s increasingly hard to escape the feeling that this is his end game. Literally made same point to my mate I love what EH has achieved - some brilliant moments and memories made - but I will never be sentimental in these situations - I think it’s time we moved on - I am not seeing anything to change my mind now, it needs fresh ideas, fresh energy, fresh tactics.
