It's by design. They don't see him as the man to take the club forward. They need a name to bring in players. He's been hug out to dry, and he knows it.

If Bruce, Pardew or anybody else had served up some of the shit we’ve seen this season they’d rightfully be getting called out too.

It’s not good enough and hasn’t been for most of the season, doesn’t mean he should be binned off but we’ve been turgid in most of our games.

£75m wiggle room in January. Psr wasn't an issue.

We don’t move in January because they don’t see value in it, bigger picture and all that

If I ask anything from tonight, use the second half as an opportunity to try something completely new that we could implement in the coming weeks against tough opposition.

Whatever other plans we have in the background, roll it out and lets start trying to get used to it in a competitive fixture against a good team.

Thry certainly found value in the summer.

The winter window is much more difficult to get deals done in, and they are nearly always more expensive than in the summer. Players also generally arnt as keen to move in January.

Non argument here

I don't think you will be actively watching the game.

Just posting in here.

Howe has enough credit in the bank to be able to be given the opportunity to navigate this of course. It would be a terrible move to sack him anytime soon.

Just because he’s been absolutely unbelievable for us doesn’t make him immune from criticism. Some would sooner blame the kit man than the manager for the consistently shit performances.

Toys out the pram huh?

A manager who has won us a cup. Got us out of a relegation battle and into the champions League twice.. is the right man for the job.

Eddie is a legend. I like him. Doesn't change the fact he isn't doing a good job and has put together this weird and expensive squad that isn't good enough.

I don't want him to have another summer to add more misfits to this squad.

Selection basically forced on him given the injuries we've got. Had to go for it, clearly hasn't worked, but not worth all the piss that will be expelled in here tonight

The selection is not the issue here. But when you are down 5-0 with 50min left on the clock, just give the youngster a run out.

Tactically we got what we expected.

PSR, can’t really pin blame on Howe for it

I guarantee you he’d have wanted players in if it was financially viable

Im not sure thats true TBF multiple financial experts have said money is available, why was Wilson working every day to find players if he had no money to spend ?

I guess there's no wiggle room between Steve Bruce level performances and immune from criticism?

To try and get a goal back, be competitive and bring some confidence back, maybe?

But there is every chance the manager will be an issue come the end of the season. They may hesitate to use money on players until they know who will manage them next season.
