In true fat fucking twat fashion when we should be doing all we can to get someone to strengthen the first team in, all speculation turns to who might leave and bids for players we can't afford to lose. [emoji23]

Of course it does. It’s not a coincidence.

It’s to make the idiots who are a bit frustrated at the lack of signings appear grateful because we’ve not sold a few players. The “Could have been worse mate, at least we didn’t lose anyone” lot who grasp at any silver lining. It’s all part of the bullshit and spin. Takes some of the heat off and deflects people’s attention from the lack of new players by making them fear who we might sell.

Who even buys a newspaper these days let alone that fucking rag. It was only ever good enough to read the back few pages whilst sat having a shit. Don't think ive ever ever read the front pages of the Chronicle or Journal or heaven forbid the Shields Gazette ( that ones only good for training puppies not to shite on your floor)

Have to have a listen again to tonights Total Sport. Got back in the car earlier, and apparently they'd had a caller come on that got Ando and Raisbeck rather heated... sounded the implication was that Rafa is also to blame for the lack of transfer activity or something.

Everyone's understandably going to be refreshing like mad tomorrow hoping that we do something before the deadline but even if that incredibly unlikely scenario became reality, who could we possibly get at this stage that would substantially improve the team?

Obviously we're not going to be spending anything, let alone the kind of money that forces a selling club to give up one of their better players with no time to get a replacement themselves.

Any ideas?

Remember this :yao:

Newcastle sale moves closer as Amanda Staveley increases offer to £300m

[...]

While that would come too late for the January transfer window there are suggestions Ashley could offer Rafael Benítez, Newcastle’s manager, around £30m to spend on the players needed to avert a relegation skirmish. Staveley would refund the money once contracts are signed.

In the unlikely situation that we bring someone in, it'll be someone that we don't know anything about imo.
