Stifler
6 and a half minutes in and they have created more than they had all season under Langley. I think in anyway, the camera is not at the right focus.
Stifler
1-0 NUFC, and fully deserved.
maybe_next_year
1-0. Didn't see the game against Ipswich but we look so much better in these opening minutes. Boddy being back makes a massive difference too.

Same, I never saw last weeks game either, but they have created more in the opening few minutes then they did in any of the previous games under Langley this season. They are well and truly going for the 2nd goal here.
Stifler
Spoke too soon. 1-1. Edited November 9, 2025 by Stifler
maybe_next_year
All came from a poor error at the back and almost did the same straight away. Such a shame after such a positive start.
et tu brute
Poor goal terrible from Cooper initially and then Stokes and the keeper from the throw in.
OverThere
Boddy makes a big difference as does playing Hayles as a natural striker. No idea why they they were playing 3-7-0 formation at the start of the season.
et tu brute
Better team skill wise, but we lack a physical presence all over the park, which is causing us problems on the counter.
maybe_next_year
Durham have been growing into the game, a bit lucky their second got ruled out as it was a great bit of skills by their winger. Our back line look very error prone at times.
toontownman
Frustrating draw. Really need a new manager in. Even more frustrating there is zero news on whether we are even interested in finding one.
et tu brute
Exactly the same as what has happened the last two years. Dominated a lot of games, but just can't put the ball in the net. Easy chances not being converted. Needs a new manager in sharpish. I honestly thought they had a replacement lined up when Langley was sacked, but we are still waiting. 6 points from the second place so still time. We need a top level manager in now though and a big January window for that to happen.
Guillaume
Guess they've not got up to 20,000 sold tickets for Sunday yet, all adverts still referencing the 10,000 mark.
OpenC
Yeah the buzz around the women's team is well down I think. Was hoping they'd open the strawberry corner but hadn't needed to last time I looked
Stifler
Bad performances last season and a poor start this season has took the wind out of their sailes.
OpenC
Getting rid of the local lasses and replacing them with what feel a bit (probably unfairly) like journeywomen and mercenaries probably hasn't helped. They kinda walked the national league because they were paid and everybody else wasn't but I would rather have seen Tyler Dodds and Hannah Greenwood and Katie Barker given a chance at this level rather than go down the route we went to not look anything like getting the next promotion anyway. The players we brought in are decent and seem like good lasses but not, in the main, so much better that it was worth losing the local feelgood factor for imo

You could make an argument that splashing the cash to (as much as possible) guarantee promotion may have been justified but we've got rid of a lot of very likeable, committed players and managed to go backwards. Really poor all round really.
OpenC
Hard to say whether they've gone backwards at the higher level but certainly if they were looking to buy success they didn't go about it very effectively
stozo
The one thing I'd say, having been hyper critical on Langley and the start of the season, is we are actually still very much in the promotion battle. We are a bit adrift (6 points) but our next three are Sunderland (below us in the league), Portsmouth (below us in the league) and Southampton (one point above us in the league). 1st placed Charlton also play 3rd placed Bristol this weekend. If we can find form we could very easily go into the winter break three points off the promotion places. And the transfer window then opens, potentially allowing us to address some of our problems. jack j
Wonder if this will mean academy teams throughout the age groups like Sunderland and Durham Currently the younger ages only have the ETC Miles behind the other

JT24
Announced earlier today that 15k tickets have been sold. May end up as one of the smaller crowds for the women at SJP which is a shame.
